Yes, i lost so much time trying to make the procedural gen mechanic and this was terrible hahahaha
Thanks for playing
I had never tried making a game with procedural generation before. I spent most of my time just trying to get it working and make it at least playable. I managed to learn quite a few things in just a few days, but as you and some other people pointed out, the need to keep jumping in order to generate the rest of the level didn't turn out very well.
I'm not sure if I'll continue making this kind of "infinite" game. I mainly did it for the experience, and I think planning and implementing different stages is much more fun to develop.
I was going to add an upgrade mechanic for each cat collected, but I ran out of time. I spent so much brainpower trying to make those hook points and platforms spawn correctly, hahaha.
Thank you very much for giving it a chance! 😊
Thank you to the GDevelop5 team and all the contributors for organizing this jam! This is the second jam of yours that I’m participating in, and even though I can see how far I am from most people’s level, what I’ve been able to learn in such a short time gives me even more motivation to keep going and hopefully create something at least decent someday!
Hey, thanks so much for playing!🤗
I didn’t have much time to polish things up. I really wanted to add WASD movement, mouse click for attacks, better pet positioning around the player, and number keys for quick shortcuts—but things have been pretty hectic.
The plan is to turn this into a top-down game where you can use up to three pets. I’ll be working on it bit by bit!
