This is amazing! I'm going to make a huge list of features I think you should add. Please keep in mind , there really isn't a time constraint-- I know how hard being a developer of even something as tiny as this is, and I'm just spitting out random things I think could make this more awesome. (I've added a little drawing I made to show some of the features I've mentioned in my list.)
1. Idle activities. Hornet could do so many things! I'll list all of the ones that I can think of: pop a flea brew every once in a while, shout 'GARAMA!' towards the screen, go offscreen then ride back with Bell Beast, have a basic enemy saunter on screen and then have her kill it, or maybe even have a bossfight (like Moss Mother, where it would be easier to add in than, say, GMS). She could do her little running back and forth dance that is super cute, or even wall jump off the screen and then parachute to the ground. All of these could be recorded in-game with a Greenscreen mod, and there would have to be a few variations of each thing so it wouldn't get boring. Or you could hand-animate it using frames picked from the game... but that would be extremely difficult.
2. Taskbar position. I often have my taskbar smaller and thinner than it is for others on Windows 11, and I also have it disappear. Could we have the option to possibly make a menu (with some uncommon keybind) and adjust a vertical offset for Hornet?
3. Sounds. This is pretty much what it sounds like. It could also be paired with Request 1 to create a huge boost in immersion...
4. Only run the program when focused. As cute as it is, I wouldn't want a 'GARAMA'! interrupting my studying. So maybe a minimize/close to tray option could help, and that could also add a menu by right clicking on the tray icon?
5. (harder to implement) New attacks! I deleted a thing off my desktop near the bottom of the screen and Hornet decided to walljump off and Silkspear it when she could have hit it with her needle. Is it possible to implement some rudimentary AI to maybe let Hornet use the proper movement and then attack? (Bonus points if she can also attack with her Needle.) Another option could be Threadstorm if there are multiple files being deleted (which I tested, she only attacks the last one clicked for some reason; the other one stays in its partially gone state.) this would be super hard though!!!
6. (would totally make me faint) Levels for her to walk on?? Maybe you could have a folder in the program with wallpapers from Silksong, like a few platforms or something. You could have an option in a menu to enable hitboxes for that specific wallpaper, and have a download from app for the wallpaper. Or you could add a rudimentary hitbox constructor overlaid on top of any other wallpaper of the user's choosing.. Okay, that would be nearly impossible for an amateur dev like me. But who knows? You could do it!
Sorry for the absurdly long reply. I'm just really excited to have the Silksong version of Desktop Toys (if you know, you know) and I want this to be improved upon! <3 Best of luck!
