When I completed the second stage the game glitched out and crashed, but the whole thing is super impressive for 3 days, and it really is fun to make your little banana assembly line.
Thank you so much for the compliments on the Art Mr. Otter! There is a tutorial video you can download if you get stuck! Just remember to do it the way you might do it in real life, and you will do well.
I very much enjoyed this one. It's a short retro stealth game and it's great at being that. The characters are great looking. I really does feel like an old arcade game. I especially enjoyed how the old monkey was stubborn but also slower. It was a really clever twist on the enemy type the player had to contend with from the first few levels. 10/10
Sorry to hear you have been having a tough with Talpa. It is certainly a bit rough around the edges in its current state. Some tips just to help you get a bit closer to the end!
1. You can always restart a level by pressing 'L' on your keyboard.
2. Most of the game involves cutting the wires you see on screen. Wires are connected from power sources to receptors that allow you to open and close the door to the next level.
3. Pressing 'T' will allow you to reverse time. As time rewinds, wires previously cut will be restored. You can use this to reconnect wires you previously severed.
It's a really fun little platformer. Mechanics feel really tight which is nice. Kept trying to reach every little nook and cranny with the banana that I could, not sure I was on task the whole time but that was what made it fun!
The art is beautiful. The lizard in the first part is adorable. The monkeys are adorable.
The real problem for me is the controls though. You really should be able to control with either the arrow keys or with 'A' and 'D'. The mouse controls are a real pain.
Kinda feels like a mini-version of the Wall of Flesh from Terraria. But you are a banana, and I really do feel that this makes this rendition of the idea a lot more relatable.
It's a fun game. There is a particular strategy with which you can absolutely annihilate the monkeys, and every other strategy you get slaughtered. I was having a real tough time with it, but then I sat still for a second and thought about it. Then I came up with a decent strategy. Then I just watched as the giant army of monkeys got absolutely bombarded by an ungodly horde of sentient bananas.
I don't love having the two options for unit types because the two aren't balanced at all (the $10 banana is objectively a better value per unit currency than the $20, and there really isn't much of a niche for the $20 to fill because the field of battle is so small). But otherwise the game is really fun.
