yes I’ve gotten this feedback about the camera a few times and and I’m planning on releasing an update to fix this and add a lot more upgrades to give the game more depth. Thanks for the feedback! I’m happy to hear you enjoyed my game!

hey thanks for playing!
yes I am planning on addressing the problems with the camera in a future update. You have an interesting idea removing the enemy. I did not go this direction because I was going for the fantasy of making your opponent draw hundreds of cards. But I do appreciate the feedback. In the short time I had for this jam I did not get to implement a lot of the features I wanted to and I will be adding a lot more soon in a few weeks
thanks for playing! The original goal of this project was to create exponential growth in the amount of cards you draw and play. Unfortunately I ended up not having enough time to implement vary many upgrades so you don’t really end up drawing 100s of cards like I had envisioned. Anyways that’s why you don’t have a very good view of the deck in the default camera position, you were meant to have hundreds of cards in your hand making it impractical to show the deck at the same time. I do plan to release a few updates after the jam to flesh out the upgrades and bring it to more closely align with my original vision. If that sounds interesting to you feel free to check back in a couple weeks or so when the game is updated.
Thanks for playing! I considered adding enemies with complex movement patters as seen in Galaga, however due to time constraints I stuck to the simple movement in space invaders for the game jam. I am planning on releasing a few updates after the jam to balance power-ups a bit and add some more content. I will try and experiment with more complex movement patterns and see how it fits in with the game play loop, but no promises if it ends up not working out. You can follow my account for updates on development if you are interested.
This is really great! You can tell that a lot of thought went into the color pallet, menu screens and art. In terms of graphics this game is phenomenal. I also love the game play loop. Choosing between removing the void or risking it and upgrading a little longer is fun! Nitpick: There was one time where an enemy went behind my health bar and I thought I killed all the enemies and the game was stuck.
I beat the big square!! really fun game I loved upgrading and seeing my character get stronger. A few nitpicks: I will say it can be a bit boring to get the last few blocks in a room. Also I was not sure if I was doing damage to the final boss because there was no visual feedback for the hits. But overall great job!
Thanks for playing! A core part of the game is the different item combinations. Depending on what you choose you can lose early on or completely destroy the game making it trivially easy. A good strategy is to try and focus on one power up at first rather then spreading out your levels. The power ups get exponentially stronger as you level them up so this might help. Balancing this game was one of the hardest parts of making it and I wasn’t able to get it absolutely perfect in time for the jam. I do plan to rebalance some things after the jam is done.
