Great 2nd issue! (And I can neither confirm or deny whether or not cheese is instrumental in inspiring anything in any of my games). Good to see so many games, and so many fun looking ones!

Thank you so much for sharing the video; It is so entertaining watching you play and learn the quirks of the levels. It definitely has that "one more go" addictive quality (all the levels can be completed - but - I tend to only get to level 4-5 before running out of lives and then going back for another play...) as I watched I found myself cheering you on - I know you can make it to level 3! I bet you got there as soon as you stopped recording. (that level 2 though! With that one, sometimes you have to lead the Lions away from where you want to be and trap them in those middle "O's" -- too many times I die in them - usually spilling the paint to stop them getting me and forgetting they'll just walk around the other side ...)
Glad you enjoyed the game. Hope you have a good (and chill) bank holiday weekend! Thank you again for sharing the video!
Hi there! I've only used the "EP128Emu" emulator which looks to be available for download at: http://www.ep128.hu/Ep_Emulator_eng.htm )
You will need to set the machine config to 128K memory.
You will need to have segment 00 set to exos21.rom
You will need to have segment 04 set to basic21.rom
You will need to have segment 10 set to epfileio.rom
and in Options you will need to set the working directory to the files subfolder.
Hope that helps.
Hi there again! I've spent a little more time with the game now, so feel it's a good moment to give some feedback on the gameplay.
Firstly, it isn't an easy game. There are so many things that can drain your energy and it's easy to run out before you know it. The bones are handy, but sometimes the effort you expend to reach them outweighs the energy you get back from collecting them; especially where digging holes is concerned (it is a nice feature that Frankee can dig anywhere, even if it's for no purpose ie. when you're on solid ground (just a note that you can dig as you fall which might be a minor bug? Your dig might need to check if you're airborne or not)).
In the "lost in the woods" those bees are so annoying (as is anything that ignores the BARK) and there are a few bits where I'd like the "falls too far" energy loss not to kick in (particularly when you're jumping down from a platform to 'jump over' a dangerous bit of scenary (like a mushroom or shrub)).
In the hole it is a nice effect having only 3 colours (cyan, dark blue and Frankee's white coat) but it does make it tricky at times to work out which bits are dangerous and which bits are harmless pieces of scenary. I do find the blue drips hard to see and have lost far too much energy being caught by them. It's nice that, like all the graphics, they are realistic; but that can make them a little unavoidable. If you do come back to the game and make changes, I'd suggest making them cyan or white to allow players a little more chance at spotting (and avoiding) them.
I'm currently dying in the playtime section after the "in the hole" bit, but am getting a good feel for the game; and I feel like I'm getting further each play.
The game as a whole is nicely polished and well designed. It's engaging and fun. I look forward to any future games you create and make available. Thank you for sharing it.
Hey there, thanks for the feedback. It definitely aims to be a challenging game (I've seen others use "save states" and "rollback" features of modern emulators to get around the 3 lives limit). I'll definitely consider putting out a "5 lives" version in the near future, and adding "extra lives" pickups to future games.
Thank you again!
