Oh I'm so sorry, it hadn't occurred to me to press the jump key a second time mid jump
As for your idea it sounds fun already, I would not neglect putting some platforming into the mix tho, take a look at arena shooters like unreal tournament, quake 3 or ultrakill for inspiration and adding a rpg system into the mix could blend really well
and sure, don't hesitate to contact me if you need feedback on this game idea

fun game! the music is awesome, the areas could be a little larger to better maneuver around enemies, I ran into a problem where I went full on weapons and I could not pass the first platform so I had to restart (it could be just a me problem), as feedback, for such platforming maybe leave speed on max from the beginning.
