That only works when the stars align with it being an in-character moment you like. Most of the time it gets stuck in immersion-breaking loops where it's the same unchanging dialogue loop over and over again, but in a tedious and not fun way.

I'd actually like to have more desperate "I don't want to be stuck here! (but gets stuck here anyway)" moments but unless you carefully dodge and weave the railroad traps you quickly end up in the end loop where there's nothing to do but keep clicking through the same end loop.

Like for example, the pills ending has a hair-trigger for when they show up, then your hands are off the wheel and you don't even get a chance to make choices. It's an express trip to the end loop and for me personally I find it tedious. It took me ages and a lot of random lucky chances to even manage to get to the "forgotten" route without the pills.

There's nothing to do to "get nice and comfy" with when there's nothing to do once the ring is gone, and there's too many derailments to even get a chance to get any runes let alone the ones you want to use.

The rune thing is so frustrating and painful, in a really needlessly-problematic way. It takes forever to get it to even show up (for unexplained reasons), then it just randomly will never give you the main three (merge, unmerge, reversion) for months at a time (for unexplained reasons).

Then when you finally DO have them they just don't work at all, for unexplained reasons. Each tedious step of this loop only barely has a chance to trigger and if something goes wrong you have to wait an eternity for another roll of the unexplained mystery dice roll. Sometimes both unmerge and merge just silently break and never move the transformation with no explanation.

All of this could maybe be forgiven as working that way on purpose if the directions it keeps railroading the story into weren't immediately a repetitive loop of the same content that runs dry way too quickly. Chapter 2 is next to impossible to unlock properly because of all this poorly-timed railroading and random silent failures. The whole allure of a permanent ending quickly gets hollow when there's nothing to do when you get there.

Even the skip to chapter 2 button doesn't work right because it sends you to a broken state where no runes are unlocked so the game keeps tripping over itself trying to do chapter 1 content out of sequence in chapter 2.

I want to get into the story but my immersion keeps getting broken hard with the railroading and random failures ruining the mood.

The slime level soft-locks itself when it runs out of slimes, forcing you to throw away all the level progress.

Also having a price on the minigame makes it a pain to interact with, so it negatively discourages you to care about it. It's basically the car/hamster puzzle from the Layton games, which in comparison can be tried infinitely.
