holy shit this is so fucking cool, i absolutely love this

A beautiful endeavour, enchanting and morose, there are many things in this work that shine, but the one I want to first draw attention to is the one Kay foolishly says you can ignore: DON'T SKIP THE WORLDBUILDING! IT'S REALLY GOOD. Okay, that said, this is a game that plays you almost as much as you play it. Much like the eponymous Final Undertakings themselves, the game is both intuitive to slip into, and challenging to wrestle through. There are places you may find yourself wanting more guidance, but in the end, I found it to be all the better for them. In my first two hours with this game, I wrote more pages of inspired work than I have on my own game in the last week. I am deeply, deeply enamoured with the death-heavy world that Kay has created in this game, and as dreadful as it can be, there is a comfort in it, and I lowkey want to live there. Fortunately for me, this game lets me come back to it as much as I want. I'll be revisiting my undertaker often, I think. He could use the company.

"A house made by two people out of truth."

ok there's a lot of lines in here that got me but that Got me. i loved them. i hope they're still living well, on another quiet night, or a busy one, whichever they prefer.

and i loved the dreamy way the flashbacks to the scenes of your mentor and little diversions of inner thought got worked in. a lot.

oh and: "Soon tragedy will mar her life in some way, cracking the glow of her open and letting the world seep in like fetid water." like. oof. wow

it's hard to pick out just a few threads of this to highlight in a comment when you're such an excellent weaver. <3

kay this is metal as fuck and while the pun is absolutely intended i also extremely mean it and i love this and if anyone else is reading this you should buy it for more than the asking price and you should love it too

so i backed the ks, and could've sworn i claimed this a while back (i even have the cookbook downloaded), but it's not registered on my account as such? i'm not really sure what happened.

i absolutely love this program, but i'm struggling with the limitation on sizes... any chance of templates for simple bifold-and-staple books using multiple sheets of paper? these little guys aren't as readable as i'd like for some things with more text. maybe an 8 page one and a 16 page one for starters? i honestly want to use this for layout on everything, it's so much more intuitive than fancy design programs.

this game helped me finish my first game, and its simple elegance would have stuck with me even if it hadn't happened to have done. this is lovely work.

this is such a delight! i haven't quite finished reading through it all yet, but i had to stop to say so. you've got me quite inspired, and incredibly just... that sweet doikayt feeling, y'know? i love this. it's a brilliant concept, and a beautiful execution - and that's all before i've had time to even play any of it.
