That's the thing. There is very little control if a nation declares war on one I don't want it to, so I send for peace, and it immediately declares war again, giving a revolt debuff. So instead, I have to go to the nation it's warring, and make it send for peace, and just do it over and over and over which makes it quite miserable.

Isolating armies is only important in the very early game. After that, you should be snowballing. I'm fighting 3 or 4 armies at once with golems, mages, and 3rd tier swordsmen.
Game needs more content. Bigger map, more obstacles, and more unit types. It doesn't need tactics or anything y'all are talking about, that would change the entire core gameplay loop, which is already amazingly fun.
Absolutely not. Your ideas are shortsighted and will limit this game. I have no problems with flanking enemies. The game is too easy already, adding tactics will make it beyond boring.
You have to use and hold left-click to position your army, and when positioned, let go of left-click to formation, then quickly reposition by holding left-click again. It's not hard. I rarely ever die, and I usually do only in the very early game.
