I had fun figuring out how to animate the expressions :D Thank you so much!

I appreciate the feedback! Yeah, I had ideas for items the player could use but didn’t have enough time to implement ^^’ Thank you for playing!

Thank you, sassy cat :’) Now I feel more motivated to accomplish my goals this evening. Great job designing this fun and practical tool!

Wow, I’m in tears. While I had some trouble following the story, the emotional beats hit me hard. I’m in awe of the stargazing visuals … coincidentally, the vastness of a galaxy has been top-of-mind for me, too, while creating during this game jam… it struck me to see someone else make that connection to the artistic process. We must be drawing from the same truth ^^ I was close to overlooking this game and am grateful you called attention to it in the discord. It deeply resonated with me and has been a standout experience during this game jam. Thank you so much!

Thank you! I appreciate the feedback :)

This was such a fun visual novel!! I love how dynamic the narrative was, from the hilarious gags to the moving scenes of being inspired by Dr. K. This game a lot of heart and I applaud all the work you put in. It really encompasses the experience of discovering HG and growing as a person. You had me rooting for Morgan all the way :)

The lead up to the final boss was visually so well done and left an emotional impact. I loved the game within a game concept and also enjoyed the battle gameplay! Superb work!

The prose is lovely. Every time I replayed the game, I appreciated the writing more. All in all, it was a nice visual novel. The illustrations and sound design made for a few very immersive moments!

You guys have a good grasp on player psychology! The game really draws you in with intriguing characters and a mysterious circumstance. Those elements along with the well-designed puzzles had me invested to play until the end. The messages that pop up when resetting also kept my morale high so I could push through my failed attempts. Super great job designing all of that. This is one of my favorite entries to the jam for sure!

The opening sequence was fantastic! I’m a huge fan of the music that set a great mood for the game. It was fun to simulate a day in the life of Morgan, though it wasn’t clear all the time why certain actions were grayed out. I never had the option to meditate or yoga which the dude really needed lol Got a favorable ending, though! Good work!

I like the atmosphere of the game! The world design is very dreamy. The platforming was super hard for my noob self. I’ve tried a few sessions to get through, but keep falling onto those darn spikes haha I also relate a lot to your Morgan in procrastinating art projects and wanting to nap instead :P

Thank you for sharing your interpretation of the ending! It’s been interesting seeing people’s reactions to it :O

The sliders are a bug. It amuses me that the progress bars ended up that way, but oh well. There is a route where your relationship status changes if you’re curious :)< But don’t let me pressure you into getting into a relationship. Society does that enough!

Thank you! I agree that it would have been nice to mix the gameplay up a little haha Glad you still found it fun!

Thank you so much!! I’m glad the game was engaging for you :)

Nice integration of the theme! It’s a very simple game, yet effective in encouraging positive affirmations.

Congrats on the team’s first game! The interactions between the parents and Morgan were sweet. I also really locked in to catch those fish lol I liked the character art a lot - if there was a version of the fishing screen that incorporated Morgan and the dad in the background, I think that would make the game look really cohesive! If you guys update the game, I look forward to playing it again!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It’s nice to hear someone related to the experience. Even though we didn’t get all we wanted accomplished, I’m proud of us and all submitters for putting out our games!

Ooh, the ending got me haha I liked your GUI and different backgrounds. It was a neat idea for a story that I could see being elaborated on more! Maybe with in-game choices, or even different routes depending on how many times a player reaches the end (if you’re familiar with renpy’s “persistent” game features). Nice job!

I like the game concept a lot and really appreciate the walkthrough at the beginning! I do wonder if there could be a feature implemented that gives the player a bit more to do while waiting for game decisions. It felt a bit odd staring at the screen waiting for something to interact with haha I unfortunately ran into the countdown bug others have mentioned. Nonetheless, I’d look forward to playing this again if that issue is fixed!

The graphics are gorgeous! Unfortunately, I couldn’t sell my first batch of fruit with how the game screen was cut off. Similar to others, the mouse offset made it difficult for me to play. The fact that I wish I could play more is good sign, though!

This is a great entry for a first game jam! It’s simple and with a nice atmosphere. I’d look forward to playing more if the team plans to further develop it with all the features that were originally planned!

The game concept is cute and aligns well with the project hopping theme! It was fun to try to delegate all the kitties. I’m sure I’d be better at it if my brain was good at mental math lol

It took a bit to figure out the mechanics, but I enjoyed the strategic planning elements once I started understanding everything! Made it to day 43! I’d look forward to playing more if the team plans to make updates in the future!

It’s a nice start to a bullet hell shooter. I think making objectives more clear for the player within the game interface would really enhance what’s already there (onscreen directions or a pop-up box, for example). It’d also be nice to see more indicators that the game is progressing and the player is doing well. That could guide the player to what the exact win condition is and a sense of achievement.

It’s so cool how this game emulates neurodivergent thinking. Gameplay is creative and addicting - I’ve spent a lot of time trying to get through a lot of the levels. There are some glitches where some words are getting grayed out when they’re needed for solving the puzzle, but it’s understandable with how complex I imagine it is to code all these word combinations/hints. I overall enjoyed the experience of playing!

Hooray for rhythm games! I think pairing music with the detective theme was a nice choice. I was a bit thrown off that the characters are not overlayed onto the background (hopefully that’s not just a bug on how it’s loading in my window?). Some reformatting of game elements, like using the space effectively and making the sprites scaled to around the same size, could make the game look more polished. Nice job!

Although I encountered a bug where I couldn’t intercept the clock signal on the first island, I love how immersive the game is! It sets up a very mysterious atmosphere. Small details like being able to buy posters for your living space is super fun to me, too!

Please reach out if you do need play-testers! Happy to support this team!

Superb job for your first game jam entry! The key feedback sound was very satisfying and the rhythms were fun to tap to. Maybe some more visual distinction between the greats, goods, and okays would have been nice (Maybe you could pull from Morgan’s color palette?), but that’s a super nitpicky comment! Overall, loved this!

Your reaction to the game means so much to me. Thank you  <3

*SPOILERS* (I can't figure out how you did that spoiler text XD)

In my headcanon, Morgan's technically not alive. They can't exist outside of the game itself. The script meant to hint that they're a self-aware video game character that knew their dev-written fate (parting ways with the player, but not necessarily dying haha

Really appreciate the thoughtful feedback! Point well-taken on the ending. The events were meant to draw  from the Game Jam themes, but I see that without that context, it comes out of the blue. Also, what an odd bug you found with the progress bars, I'll have to look into what happened there with the code. Thank you so much for playing and sharing your experience!

A+ on visuals and sound design! It's a simple game that fits the project hopping theme really well. I ran into a few bugs, but the enjoyment while playing and trying to get on the leaderboard more than makes up for it :)

The visuals and overall art direction are outstanding. I'm a fan of Inscryption and enjoyed this playstyle. My only critique is that it would have been nice to undo setting down a card before ending your move. Nice job and looking forward to future updates!

The art and writing really drew me in at the beginning. It would be neat if the theme of not getting things done could be incorporated more throughout the levels, like if you could read Morgan's thoughts on what's distracting them as their health go downs, or if the bullets were more a visual symbol of their distraction. Small details like that can make the game feel really cohesive and aligned with the theme. Definitely understandable if the team just didn't get around to it, but I also would have loved to see more of the writing for the ending! Morgan could reflect on the triumph of overcoming their negative thoughts, something like that. It could make an even more rewarding player experience for beating the last boss. Lastly, if you all plan to iterate on the game, consider ways to throw bullet hell noobs like me a bone lol Maybe life/time packs could be available on an easy mode! Hopefully I'm not coming off as overly critical - I did enjoy the game a lot and appreciate all the love and effort you all put into this!

Wow, thank you! Glad you enjoyed the time management aspects. I've been meaning to play the persona games since they look like ones I'd enjoy. I'll take your comment as a sign to get on that haha

Much appreciated, Robb! I loved reading your story posted in the Game Jam discord channel. I would have never guessed that Ruby's Resolve was your first game with how excellent it was. Thank you so much for persevering and bringing that part of yourself to the community, developing a game that's been fun for so many. I look forward to supporting your future work!

This was a fun time playing with my partner!! Didn't notice the instructions on the main page until after we finished. Hopefully a future version can incorporate a tutorial level of some sort. I like the game design and think it fits the theme really well!

Oh gosh, that's on me for programming randomness for the success rolls. :P If you have trouble getting the True Ending, a Search for Love might get you there. (That activity leads to a linear dialogue path rather than RNG) Glad you found the game relaxing! I appreciate the comment!

Yeah, try to prioritize coding over studying! Search for Love also increases your chances of getting the True Ending when you go down that path :)<

Lol, yes. They're from my most listened to Dr. K meditation/yoga videos!
