Don’t worry! You did great for a beginning. If this is a starting point for a project, then, if you want to continue on developing it, I hugely recommend using the devlog feature on itch

Moreover explaining what is the whole purpose of the game and even, say what will be the overall theme/gameplay of the game at the end is what will make people follow what you are doing.

The game looks great overall!

My only complaint is really just the fact that no matter what you will do, these kind of games with floating platforms and speedrunning mechanics will always be compared to the first Karlson made by Dani on itch.

It’s not really your fault, but, maybe a twist to the mechanics or something that makes you differentiate yourself from him will impact how enjoyable your game is.

oh, ofc!
I am under the name Komuri_ttv on Reddit.

Looking at it, the songs all have the same keys. All I change is the speed at which the keys go from top to bottom (basically, making the only "difficulty" based on reaction time).
Honestly, one thing I can change is how precise you need to be to get a good score. Difficulty definitely needs more fine-tuning, so, I will make an update in a few weeks with a bunch of corrections. Thanks so much for your time and your constructive criticism!

Thanks so much! Loved your game too!

thanks so much!

Damn, man, will definitely rework the difficulty. I think that there are a lot of things I wasn't able to do.
Next update, there will be lots of fixes, i promise :)

Thanks so much! I actually spent so much time on the art, I’m glad you like it!

oh my! Thank you so much!

I will take all you’ve said in account and adapt it in game! I do agree with you 100%, and should probably look into new ways of knowing if you did good or not. And thought about some visual cues that could help.

Regarding the text… Finding or making a pixelized text font that is free for commercial uses is quite difficult. But I’ll definitely take a look into it.

It's goofy yet pretty cool.

I think it needs more fine tuning in terms of movement and keybinds (maybe left click and right click for the knife) and finally, the knife is taking a very long time to travel...
Apart from that, cool game!

Thanks man!

It was fun, hope to see more of it. Maybe with a more defined objective

Love the lil story, and how animated the birds are.

Texts are hard to read when they're sideways, but, ig it's part of the game. Cool one!

Takes a long time to load and needs a lil bit more content. But honestly, it was kind of addicting to just try to upgrade your magnet.

HELLO!

I'll stop gatekeeping the idea of my game, cause, I got to spoil This, will be a game, where the player, a bard, has to stop a siren from attracting the sailors of the ship.

You can either play the music to make the siren go away, to attract the sailors on your side, OR, match the siren's own music to lessen her influence.

> How does it work?

It will be turned based PVE. The objective, is to keep the sailors on your side for a certain amount of turns. (meaning, at the end of all turns, the sailors have to be closer to you, than closer to the siren)

Each turn, the player will decide of one action:

Influence:

The player attracts the sailor on his side. Can play it every round, but the effect lessens over the amount of time you play it in a row.

Disturb:

The player uses this attack to make the sirens unable to sing for a certain amount of turns. This will only be availiable once every 4 turns.

Overlap:

The player plays the same song as the siren, and will try to match her rhythm. If managed well, the player can nullify the siren's attack. Only availiable once every 3 turns.

Charm:

The player will charm the Siren making her attacks weaker for set turns. Only availiable every 6 turns.

> Whats the catch?

You will have... at every action... to playa rhythm game! Your score will greatly influence the effect of your actions! Making it either easy or hard for you!

There will be a total of 5 sirens to beat, with each having a different song, and a different difficulty!

> Good luck bards and sailors!
