Game is pretty fun! Map design is cool and like the early mario stages. (I almost got the same sprite for my game, but it didn't work for the code I made ;D)
Fun game, try adding more to the game loop (like additional movement options or what happens in each game state). I can see you were going for a darker theme, but not quite sure where it fits to the overall message.
