Hi there, srayermann!

Thanks for your feedback!

We greatly appreciate our players input and perspective on our games as it helps us continue to create a better experience!

While I’m glad you found the spot eventually, it seems that the clues may be in need of a little bit of tidying up.

Thanks again for your input, and thank you for your support!

Hi there, Barrel’s Supremacy!

It’s super unfortunate that you’re having trouble locating the Cave of Io!

The cave is located underground, near a small pond in the north-west of Felodrift Northlands. You may have to climb to reach it!

We hope this helps you finish the quest.

If you need any other help, feel free to ask here, in our community discussions at our forums, here or in our Discord server, here

Thanks for playing, and thanks for supporting us!

Hi there samapatti,

It looks like that is a conflict with an outdated version of nwjs.

To fix this, you can try downloading version 0.43.6 from here: https://dl.nwjs.io/v0.43.6/nwjs-v0.43.6-linux-x64.tar.gz

Once downloaded, open the archive and extract the files over the top of the game folder, overwriting any files when asked.

Hopefully this should fix the issue and allow you to run the game!

If you still encounter any issues, please attempt to redownload the game as a new version with an updated nwjs library has been uploaded.

Thanks for supporting us!

Hi there samapatti!

The linux versions of the game can be a bit temperamental at times.

Sometimes the Game.desktop shortcut that is generated from the build decides not to work on some distros.

Try shift-clicking in the folder of the game, and click “Open in Terminal”, then type “./nw” and hit enter.

If this does not work, try making the file executable by running “sudo chmod +x nw” in the same terminal, then “./nw” again.

If that does not run the game then, the terminal should at least provide some insightful information to what else could be going wrong.

I’d be happy to provide any further assistance either here, or at our discord here!

Hey ToasterGnome,

Thank you for your message!

To stay up to date on the progress/status of our single player and MMO content, please consider joining the Discord Community: https://discord.gg/YZg4kt8Wpx

We hope to put a strong focus on expanding the world of Verdict in multiple ways.

It is our hope that our content will be able to be played by the widest audience possible, so we are developing our single player content and multi-player content in tandem, meaning that resources developed for the single player RPG are shared with the MMORPG.

We are aware of the significant expenses and costs involved with developing massively multiplayer online content, we value and appreciate our supporters. If you are interested in contributing, please check out our public donation page or Patreon.

We feel strongly that players who do not wish to participate in multi-player content, should receive equal attention as the Verdict series has it's origins in single player RPG content.

Thank you for supporting us, and thanks for supporting indie games!

Hi Aris,

Thanks for reporting these issues.

We're going to look in to the Encyclopedia crash and see if there is a way to resolve it.

As for the anti-virus showing a message upon opening the game/zip, this is common among more sensitive anti-virus products when a file has not been tracked in their database (and will eventually go away as more people open the file).

Thanks for your questions, and thanks for supporting us!

Hi Art926,

The same artist that drew the original 2D character art is also creating the 3D versions.

As for Graphics, we intend to strive for the best balance between performance and appeal.

Here are some examples of the current draft 3D models including Steif and Ghist:

Please be aware that this is a work in progress and likely not reflective of how the models will appear in-engine once shaded/lit.

For an example scene of the graphical style, there is a demo video on our VerdictGames website (if you pay close attention you might even recognize a certain priest of Basanir):

https://verdictgames.com/

We will try to update our community pages regularly as we have more to share.

Thanks again for your question, and on-going support!

Hi Art926,

Version 1.0 contains the prologue of Verdict of Silence, covering the story of how the main characters meet, as well as setting up most of the major characters and events that will take place in the whole story featured in the remake.

This story will be expanded upon for the remake and be larger as a whole, as well as continuing on from the end of Version 1.0.

As for the alternate costumes and sprites contained in the game files, we had originally planned a costume system as well as several levels of romantic cutscenes.

Here is one of the alternate costumes planned for the player, that was supposed to be obtainable during the Canse romance quests:

Here is a (heavily censored) example of a work in progress CG between a male character and Ket:

A majority of these scenes were cut as implementing them the way we wanted proved too difficult in RPGMakerMV - the only remaining content from this system is the hidden outfits for party members (which change both their sprite and often the way NPCs will react to them).

These systems will be present in the remake, including the romance options.

With all of our projects, we intend to include romance content and as development continues we will release adult content patches to replace vanilla content.

With version 1.0 there is no adult content or CGs outside of player/party member/NPC nudity. Sex is referenced and building relationships may lead to a cut to black style romance scene.

It is our hope as we continue to develop Verdict, to be able to offer our audience adult content patches to enable the game to be played by the widest possible audience while still maintaining the more adult content.

Thank you for your question, and thanks so much for supporting us!

Hi Art926.

Rest assured that VerdictGames will always have a large center focus around LGBT+ inclusion and push the boundries as far as mature content is concerned as far as possible for the platform that is being developed for.

Thanks for the question!

Hi there, art926.

Currently the project is under NDA and not publicly announced - but keep an eye out on the news page here and in the Discord as it will be announced there when it goes public.

Thanks for your question!

Hi there, The Lurking Dev.

ABSENCE: Verdict of Silence is still in our roster of in-progress games, but it has been sidelined slightly for another larger project.

You can expect some updates to the game (and news about our other projects) in the future.

Thanks for your question!

Hello Again art926!

New custom art work has been added to the majority of base game NPCs, in the newest update 0.2!

As of the latest version "Alpha 0.2" the game is now compatible with the itch.io launcher!

Hi there PublicLewdness,

We're happy to announce that with the advent of the 0.2a patch, a Linux version of Verdict is now available!

Thank you for your suggestion, and thank you for your support!

Hi beesalad,

We're happy to let you know that in the 0.2a update of Verdict, several of your suggested features have been added, including:

  • An item to both repel and increase encounter rates
  • Catch up mechanics for new party members
  • Dialogue defaulting to requiring a key press before accepting input

Thank you so much for your suggestions, and thank you for supporting us!

Hi maxwelldaemon and beesalad,

Thanks for reporting this bug and letting us know about the series of events that caused it.

This should be fixed in version 0.2a.

Thank you for your comments and thank you for supporting us!

Hi beesalad,

We are glad you were able to continue this quest - however a note will be made in the future to provide a clearer and more concise set of indicators to the player in regards to finding the key pieces.

Thank you for your post, and thanks for your support!

Hi beesalad,

Thank you for reporting this issue.

We have looked into the quest and found that a certain series of actions can cause the quest to become stage locked.

This will be fixed in the next update.

Thank you for your post, and thanks for your support!

Hi beesalad,

Thank you for reporting this information - it will be very useful in tracking down the bug in the playtime counter.

We will see to getting this fixed as soon as possible.

Thank you for your post, and thank you for your support!

Hi beesalad,

Thank you for your post!

We are glad that you are enjoying the game, and hope to produce more content in the future that will be just as enjoyable.

Thank you for your support!

Hi beesalad,

Thank you for your suggestions!

The implementation of a way for players (particularly higher level players) to bypass lower level monsters has been a feature we have had in mind for a time. A large number of side quests can involve a lot of travel and being harassed by low level monsters can add a significant annoyance to that gameplay.

As such, we will look at creating a way for people to bypass these.

We appreciate your concern regarding party members joining at a disadvantage to current members, and a new system to bring them more in to line with your current party will be added in the next patch.

The issue regarding dialogue not pausing, causing unexpected or unwanted choices in speech, is a known issue related to an internal function with the engine. We will look at remedying this in the upcoming patch.

We are so glad that you enjoyed the game, and hope that you will continue to enjoy playing in the world of Asalthana. Your suggestion of more lewd content is something that we can gladly confirm is a coming feature - as the game will continue to earn it's adult rating in future content with more adult oriented content such as nudity, dark themes and violence.

Our primary focus was to create a good game - and good story content for players, and when we had established this, our secondary focus was to introduce more features that improve the player's experience - such as expanded relationships, dating and meaningful choices.

Your admiration towards the friendly farm boy is most definitely understandable, and in the future a variety of non-party characters are set to be extra, optional romances for the player - and he may be on the list!

We have definitely looked at an alternate route for providing funding for Verdict, and we may launch a pateron in the near future!

Thank you for your suggestions, and thank you for your support!

Hi beesalad,

Firstly, thank you for your comprehensive list of bugs.

Could you provide a few more details on what had occured before you entered the Junk Shop?

In regards to your recent wall climbing adventure; We hope to have this issue fixed in the next update. This was present in several maps due to changes within the tileset, but has been largely not an issue. There are some areas however that it is intended for the player to be able to climb up - and those will not be affected.

The Fast Travel mage(s) will display no option if you are missing certain story flags (which are required to unlock many locations). There may be an inherent bug here with the flag system, and it will be looked in to - but we will also add an alternate series of dialogue to inform the player should there be no flags present.

I apologise for the confusion with the Kiki and Vanessa characters - this seems to be a result a malformed dialogue tree, and should be fixed in the next update.

Additionally, the problem with your game time tracker is an odd one - do you know what exactly was happening at the time?

We are glad that you are enjoying the writing and greatly appreciate others contribution to making it a more coherent and immersive story.

Lastly, We're sad to hear about the bugged interaction with the Cave of Io - the effect that he grants is only intended to be a temporary side-effect to encourage the player to do his quest, and being shackled with this for a majority of the game would not be fun (albeit, it could pose an interesting new challenge to some hardcore players!)

This problem will be remedied in the next update.

Thank you so much for your bug reports, and thank you for supporting us!

Hi beesalad,

This quest has been known to have a few bugs before, due to an issue with quest staging.

If you are unable to locate the bag, please try the following:

(Quest spoilers ahead)

Head to the north/north-west of Felodrift forest and on the mesa, to the right of the Skrack Burrow, is a bandit. Fight this bandit and retrieve the pack he is rifling through.

(Quest spoilers end)

If you are unable to complete this sequence of events, you may have encountered a bug.

Thank you for your question, and thank you for supporting us!

Hi beesalad,

To ensure that this is not a bug, please check the following areas:

(Quest spoilers ahead)

In the north-east of Felodrift forest, check the bushes near the river's bend.

In the north of Felodrift, check the bushes near the entrance to the Cave of Io

(Quest spoilers end)

If you are unable to obtain the keys from those areas, you may have encountered a bug.

Thank you for your question, and thank you for supporting us!

Hi beesalad,

Thank you for reporting this bug.

We've seen instances of similar issues and are looking to include a fix to this in the next patch.

Thank you for your report, and thank you for supporting us!

Hi Zeroken09,

We appreciate your kind words, and are glad that our goal of making the game as inclusive and accessible as possible for our players is coming to fruition!

Thank you for your comment, and thank you for your support!

Hi there, Zeroken09!

This is outlined in the first post in this thread: here.

The game is planned to have some NSFW content, including romantic and sexual scenes, nudity, impactful violence and adult themes.

Coming in the next update is a new system called "Costumes" that will allow you and your companions to swap outfits, as well as allowing you to take your clothes off!

Thank you for your suggestions, and thank you for supporting us!

Hi There, Zeroken09!

The cache that you are looking for is hidden in a discarded pile of wood, somewhere near the Guard's Tower in Felodrift!

There appears to be a missing part of the quest that was supposed to direct players towards here.

We have noted this, and in the next update this quest will have a better series of descriptions for each stage!

Thank you for your question, and thank you for supporting us!

Hi there, Zeroken09!

No problem! We hope you enjoy spending more time with Canse!

Keep an eye out for the upcoming patch that will include more content allowing you to expand on your relationship with your favourite party members!

Thanks for supporting us!

Hi there, Zeroken09!

Canse is a valuable member of your party, and where possible we would like for players to choose who accompanies them.

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD

There is a hidden optional secret that will protect Canse from his "accident", as well as give him a neat set of armor!

While I won't reveal the exact secret, here is a general checklist:

  • Make sure your Relationship with Canse is over 25
  • Make sure you have spoken to Canse at least once at the camp
  • While beneath the Temple of Io, keep an eye out for a key (you may need to "forcefully" take it from someone)
  • Once you find the special key in the Catacombs under the Temple of Io, make sure you have Canse in your party and find the hidden, blue chest.

If you make sure to do/meet all of the above, Canse will avoid having the "accident" and he will continue to be a party member after the events in the Catacombs.

Thank you for this post, and I hope this information can help you keep Canse as a party member. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any further questions or comments!

Thank you for supporting us!

Hi there, Zeroken09!

The Kar'pei can be fought so long as you have both the Vanthium and Rotten Carcass in your inventory. With both of these objects, you will have a random chance when fishing in any fishing hole in Felodrift to fish up the Kar'pei, which will randomly appear in the place of a regular fish. There is no special requirements to use the items, or pick a different option - you just need to fish as if you were trying to get regular fish.

The chance is roughly the same to catching a lobster, so it may take a minute or two!

In regards to the Bandit's Cache, which quest are you inquiring about? There are several quests and side activities that involve finding hidden caches, and I would need to know the exact one to know which cache you need.

Thank you for your support, and thank you for your questions!

Hi maxwelldaemon,

Thank you for reporting this bug, and helping us make the game better!

We have taken note of this, and it should be fixed in the next update.

Thank you for supporting us!

No problem Zeroken09!

Thank you for your question, and thank you for supporting us!

Hi maxwelldaemon,

It sounds like you are at the point of the quest  where you are required to find someone who knows about the frying pan in the inn (hint: it's the person who can offer you a bed for the night!)

If talking to them does not advance the quest, you may have encountered a bug. If so, please post about it in the Bugs forum, and include (either in text, or in a picture) your completed quests.

Thank you for your post, and thank you for supporting us!
