Sam's Journey on the NES uses the MMC3 mapper which also drove many commercial titles back then.

The C64 version and the NES version accompany Sam on the same journey. We currently have no plans to port that journey to any more systems.
However…
If we make another Sam, it's very likely that we're going to send him on an all new adventure, no matter if C64, NES, or a new platform!
There's only a PAL cartridge for Sam's Journey on the C64. You can run the PAL cartridge on an NTSC C64, but the music will be too fast and you'll experience a lot of slowdowns and visual glitches.
Do you happen to have a NES as well? Then you might want to try Sam's Journey on the NES for which a proper NTSC cartridge is available:
