Nah you can do 3d and keep it in in 2 colors, I know because I debated on it but I work in Unreal and there's no easy browser export. I don't use Unity but I imagine you'd have to modify the skybox or modify the camera post processing to posterize down to 2 colors.

So long as there are only two colors on screen, you can do whatever you want

Yeah I didn't test that thoroughly enough! If you block yourself in it's supposed to say something about the hero getting lost but it only works if you don't have another card to still play.

I really appreciate the kind words!

I just want to clear this up. The page says "you make a game using only 2 colors" and it also says "you can only use any 2 colors". However, and this where my question comes from, it also says "Only 2 visible colors on screen are allowed".

That last sentence implies we CAN use more colors as long as only 2 colors are visible on screen at a time, is this correct?

Thank you!

There are a total of 5 enemies right now. Different tiles can yield different enemies. With the time I had I was only able to make 2 of them unique in any way but they all have different stats.

RNG will remain a part of the game even as I restart development for the full game but I will expand on it in ways to help with that.

I appreciate you playing it though!

Gotcha! I went back and I think finished it then. That's interesting. My only real feedback then would be to shorten that loop or make it way more obvious that something is about to happen. As a player I'm just assuming this is the end because it's a game jam and maybe that's it.  I enjoyed it though. I didn't mind replaying it all because the platforming was nice.

Ah that makes sense. I'll try that then!

Good sounds and visuals. I ended up quitting on level 4 because I just don't have enough control over the ball to thread myself through one of the gaps. If you could pick which peg your anchoring to it would be easier to control. I had fun up until that though lol.

This was a very nice self contained game that I couldn't stop playing. I almost upgraded everything but I was starting to get a little bored at the end because factory output just wasn't fast enough for me to keep going. I loved the music choice though, left it on the whole game.

Yeah the style is absolutely incredible. Well done.

This is a fun idea. The AI is really good and by good I mean difficult. It was fun discovering the strategy of shooting left and then when the bullets wrapped around begin firing back right. I only wish the bullets looped a little faster.

What kind of monster developed this control scheme lol.

My only issue (aside from the controls) is that the spells don't matter because it's easier just to keep tapping buttons.

Fun little game. I had fun with it. It's pretty simple to make it easy on yourself because there's no time limit or anything though.

Good game but with really well done art and audio. It's immediately obvious what I'm supposed to do and how to do it. My only problem is that I really just kept going on the same few sections of track and clicking the same couple arrows the whole time and never felt the need to go after the boosts.

Loved the ball animation and the platforming actually felt really good. Maybe the best out of what I've played so far. Unfortunately it was just very short, it only took probably 30 seconds to the third checkpoint and it just locks you into a looping death. Simple art was great too, loved the looks.

Neat game but by the third fight the wheel was broken and the icons didn't align with their actions. I wish there was a bit more randomness in the spins because as it was I just kept doing the same actions over and over.

This feels like a game I'd make and I love it for that but I couldn't quite figure out how it all worked together.

Neat and simple idea. Not a whole lot of replayability to it but at least compared to everything else I've played it was unique so it was a nice change of pace.

The 4th level is asking you to be pixel perfect with your jumps twice in a row or you fail. I couldn't do it so I quit before even getting to use portals. The platforming was good, I appreciate when someone knows how to do a jump without making it too floaty but I'm clearly not good enough to beat it lol.

I'm giving you good ratings but I unfortunately couldn't get past the first day. I tried twice and maybe I was missing something but I could no longer use the computer so I thought maybe I had to just memorize some of it so I tried cutting up the first resume and everything was just locked.

The art, the animation, the sound effects were all top notch though and I really wanted to play the game because it seemed fun.

With some cleanup this could be a lot of fun. I feel like I got the hang of it pretty quickly but there was still some nuances that I wasn't totally getting. Great job though, overall I really did enjoy this one.

I enjoyed it for what it was. I really appreciate that details were easy enough to understand if it was upside down or not which on one hand removed some challenge but on the other prevented becoming irritated. The only real issue is the last alleyway, the pallet needing flipped doesn't make any sense because once you flip it it's not floating in air.

It was a cool idea and I was excited to play it but I immediately hated the controls and it felt like I was constantly taking damage for no reason.

I liked the idea enough to give it a few plays. I found the shotgun to be broken or I just didn't know how to aim it so I opted to ignore that and just go for pure speed which is great but at a certain point there's just too many goblins to reach them in time.

(1 edit)

Yeah I realized that and I'm a little upset with myself that I didn't spend 5 minutes just creating a text pop-up on the first run telling you to connect back to camp or something. I was just so limited on time that I didn't even have time to think about it.

Looks great, sounds great. I'm just not great at it haha.

It's 1 am and I'm still feeling the sleep deprivation and my brain just could not figure this out lol. I beat the first two levels like "pshhh, puzzle kind over here" and then I decided it was time to go to bed haha. Sorry for not giving it more of a fair shake but from what I did play I liked and I really enjoyed the audio.

I like the idea, it's fun for a little game but there's at least one object that I just can't even tell what it is and I had a really hard time figuring out the categories.

Jokes on you, I liked this ritual.

I kind of felt like I was just walking around pressing E until things happened. I didn't really know what I was supposed to be doing or what we were going for.

You guys had a team of 4 and I can tell. Every aspect of the game feels like it received full attention and you did really well bringing it all together. The art, music, and not to mention it's the first platformer I've played in this jam so far that had a good jump! Well done.

I really just could not figure out how the Repeat function worked at all. I was getting frustrated at that because I was trying to use it in the very first level but obvious logic wasn't working so I assumed I'd learn but the little popup for the second level didn't help me understand it either.

It's gorgeous and I think I had way more fun than I should have lol. I actually was enjoying it quite a bit.

I appreciate it! Once I had the idea I knew I needed to keep the actual interaction between the player and the game simple so you're able to focus on the strategy of it. Unfortunately, like everyone else, I had to cut a lot of content to make it on time but I'm still very happy with the current state of it.

Thank you so much! I am absolutely going to continue development on this, I have so many ideas of ways to improve the game.

Thank you so much! I definitely plan on continuing development. I have a lot of ideas to improve the gameplay.

Thank you! I'm taking a little rest break to play games in the jam but once I get back adding reasons to go further is my top priority.

Oh wow thank you! That was my goal! Haha.

Thank you! I really appreciate it.

Thank you so much! I'm taking a little break from development to play some games and just rest but I can not wait to get back to working on this. I have so many ideas! If you have any please don't hesitate to let me know.
