Please try loading a different save file. This kind of error sometimes happens to me during development as well. Usually restarting the game fixes it, but in your case it will most likely not help.
If you don’t have any other manual saves, please check the autosaves. There’s a good chance you’ll find an autosave that’s not too far from where you were in the story.

Sorry for the delay. I’ll make a separate post on December 31st with new art and a full explanation. The new update is almost finished, and within about a week I’ll release the previous update to the public and the new one for supporters. Thanks for your patience!
This was done intentionally to reduce the size of the game's APK file. In future updates, I will try to make the difference in quality less noticeable. Thank you for pointing it out.
You're playing on Android, right? I had to reduce the animation quality a bit to keep the APK file size manageable. Sorry about that! And thanks a lot for pointing out the typos — I’ll do my best to fix them in future updates
