this game could use a run button i think this game would be way funnier with a run button HAHAHA

its kinda easy for me to forget things and i feel like that added to the chaos in a rly fun way :D i also really liked the music u chose for this it added so much to the tension!!! u guys cooked :)

i really REALLY like the bit where you put  the pasalubong in your parents' house TWICE... it really adds a lot to the desperation that's felt in that scene...

time travel and moving on from the past... incredible storytelling this is so so great

whee!!!!!!! i like getting hit by the jeep several times

cute game! love the play on words HAHAHA

cute!!! rly liked the art and the personifications of the chocolates :]

i will say that the high turbulence thing felt kinda weird and the objects being stretched out made it kinda hard to visualize how big the objects are, but regardless of that i had a lot of fun with the timed aspect of it all!! i did get stressed out a bit during this and ifl thats kinda the point hehe

(i played this with lennychip!)

absolutely adored the animated pixel art sprites, and how kinda natural they looked. kinda crazy that u had time to do all of that, its so impressive!! while i do think the backgrounds couldve done with more work (and acknowledge that thats probably unrealistic given the nature of the jam), i kinda like the filters u put on the pre-existing ones. kinda reminds me of how Higurashi and Umineko used to do their backgrounds haha!!

the dialogue and banter between lila and eli was rly cute!! it felt rly natural and kinda reminds me myself of how id talk to some of my close friends... the twist at the end was kind of unexpected but also kinda welcome,, i guess thats just how it goes sometimes BHWSHKFD

super good stuff :D

MASSIVE RESPECT for making a pico-8 game :D

this game is rly cute! the story is absurd in a kinda silly way and i quite liked the platformer mechanics!! id say my main gripe w this game is the red bullet randomness and the boss as a whole (you can actually go out of bounds by jumping on the wall on the left part of the stage, which leads you to the level before this) but other than that i had a lot of fun with this!!

this felt like everyone just wanted to mess around and make something thats at least a little funny and honestly? i respect it a lot. i loved the handy hogan bit HAHAHAHA

i went into this thinking "ooh the cover art is really cool!!!" (and i still think the art ingame is!!! its rly cute and warm :) but MAN did that journal hit me in the gut... interacting with all the objects felt like the perfect amount of buildup leading to the journal. seriously good stuff here :]

the feeling of talking to someone u really care about and not being able to say everything you wanted to say... oughghh

this rly hit home for me!!! the idea of playing cards that represent conversation topics is so so cool, and i rly like how u played around with the idea of giving a gift to someone based on what u remember them from HBDSFFDBH u cooked soooo hard

CUTE!!!!

fairly simple murder-mystery (because the mangoes were murdered) detective vn!! the dialogue i found especially entertaining, i found myself giggling every couple of lines hehe!! the art as well i rly liked, all the characters were so expressive (especially mingming, somehow)

that true ending was crazy LOOOOLLLL i was midway thru typing this comment before realizing it was there AHSHAHSA

NOOOOO NO ACK ACK that ending was so awww :<

very cute and simple lil game!! the pixel art is super pretty (i loooove the walking animation) and the clicker kinda aim-trainer gameplay is nice too (my only gripe with it is that some of the items you should click spawn on top of items that you shouldn't) :33 im especially a huge fan of the polaroid photo art!! its really cute hehe

may taptap rest in peace 😔 i hope they get tons of cat food in heaven

why dont they just fold the shirts? are they stupid?

this one's great hehe!!! i got stuck on a few levels, particularly the ones titled "A Bit of Everything" and "For The Relatives" (and am still stuck on that latter one HAHAHA) but i mean... i'll probably get it done eventually right ?

SUPER CUTE GAME REGARDLESS!! i am way too familiar with the box-packing kinds of puzzles and i rly like the restrictions you put on it by allowing some items to only be next to others!!! i feel like that particular mechanic with restrictions could be explained better (maybe its just me but i took a while to realize that an item having to be "surrounded" by objects of a certain type means it has to be completely surrounded, box edges don't count) but i think it added to the things i have to think about when going into a level quite well :33

that being said i do wish there was more emphasis on the likes and dislikes a person has... a lot of the levels here at least to me felt like just needing to fit everything into the box as an end goal, and less about figuring out what to put in the box and what not to put :OO some levels with that in mind would be cool!!! i think!!!

the art is great n the music and sound design is rly cute and fitting for the game and i had a lot of fun with it!!! very easily expandable too u guys cooked up something DELICIOUS with this one :D

ill finish level 12 soon i swear

Hi!! There's currently a bug before starting Day 5 where in some cases, the day won't load correctly and Ren'Py will display an error. Clicking on the "Ignore" button should advance the day as normal! Apologies for the inconvenience, we'll try to fix this after the jam! :<<

(1 edit)

(spoilers ahead! give the game a spin first :D)

(also mad ramblings ahead LOL)

i think this is a really good example of a simple game concept executed super well!!! the idea of examining postcards and finding out about their author's true intentions when writing about them is such a neat idea to play around, and i thought the game was just short enough that it becomes feasible to memorize the contents of each and play around with combinations of messages (since you only get to reveal 3 parts of a postcard each time) !! i also think the narrative you form to get to the true ending makes a lot of sense when i thought it was going to be something i'd have to bruteforce haha...

the writing in general is super good, and i think yall tied it to the game's premise really well!! i also rly like the voice acting :))

some (very minor) things i'd consider adding:

  • the prologue could be easier to skip, at least after the first read... some kind of "jump to postcard 1" or something would be great
  • indications that you clicked on a "good thing" would be nice! but i think at the very least, i'd like to have the option to reset a postcards
  • indicators for things you can click on would be nice!! i get that the twist is revealed after your first playthrough n i at least think these could be indicated after your first run
  • background music would be fun i put on some acoustic bgm during this and it was such a good time

overall tho! really really good and simple game. i unironically wanna make shorter games with simpler concepts because of this WSHDSJKFFHK

also i teared up getting to the true ending. its so peam

im horrible at this game but that is lowk on me for not playing 10-key rhythm games LOL. really really cute game especially with the music and art :]
