I think it's short enough that being tough isn't too bad, maybe start the first level off a bit slower though. I found I had to die a couple of times just getting a hang of the controls, maybe have the first couple waves not fire back and move slowly so people have time to get a hang of things. (also it's not clear that the debris is not harmful, so I spent a while trying to dodge it xD)
Fun little game, I can tell you put a lot of time into it. Managed to get 13:57 (so close to 14 minutes!). I really like this style of game, I love the kind of pressure they can put you under, but I do think there are a few problems. I find these kinds of games are best when they start managable but force you to think and act faster until you eventually either start making mistakes or falling behind pace. But I never found that this game made me really feel that crunch. Part of it is that even when sprinting from room to room I always felt that I had time to think ahead, I felt like I was moving slowly enough to stay in control and stay calm. Certain actions also felt a bit slow, picking up wrenchs off the wall felt way more akward then it needed to be and sometimes wrenchs just wouldn't throw even when looking at a broken pipe. These wouldn't be too bad if the game wasn't about speed but having to slow down occasionally for a second or two because your wrench didn't throw properly can really throw off the rythem of the game. Also the games feel a bit long, I would be willing to experiment more and try to optimize my strategy to get a faster time but having to spend 10+ minutes just to have a chance to beat my record is pretty long and repetitive. I think having a faster, more hectic, and shorter game would have been an improvement.
Other then those problems I think the rest of the game is pretty good. Sorry if I seemed a bit negative above but I think the game was close to being great! I liked the art, atmosphere, and sound(don't worry it wasn't too loud) and the basic mechanics were fun to play with.
I'll definitely be following "E.server" to see what you get up to next.
Good luck in your future projects! :)
Not bad for a first project, everyone has to start somewhere and this seems pretty good considering your experience, the art and title page are especially stand out as looking pretty decent. The lack of music and especially sound effects is quite noticeable however, even some basic sound effects would have improved the feel of the game a lot. I would also reccomend being a bit more unique in your next project, copying is a good way to learn but trying even one new thing a project, even if you fail, can improve your speed of learning dramatically. I've been in your position before and know how slow and hard development can seem at times but keeping at it and trying new things always seems the best approach. Best of Luck in the future!
