Delightful little game. I'm not familiar with the show, but the writing for the boy with the teapot hat was adorable (as were his gasps).

:)

Thanks very much!

Do you mean you get NO response (like it's a bug), or just that Bill refuses to do it? He should say that he needs a good reason. To give him that reason, you need to...

***SPOILER***

1. Look at the magazine in your inventory, so Bill reads the article about rainforest sounds.

2. Look at the car, so Bill knows its alarm sounds like birdsong.

Thanks, mate :)

Thank you! Yeah, a few people have mentioned the cursor speed. We will definitely fix that.

Thank you very much! :)

Hi there! First off, thanks for playing and sticking with it. I'm sorry it frustrated you. I assure you, there are ways to deduce the answers to all the questions you've asked. For example...

*SPOILERS*

The earring isn't the only way to confirm that the laughing girl was the one who tied Rosie's shoelaces together. She also has grass stains on her top, and there is a path of flattened grass leading under the bench.

*END OF SPOILERS*

The full game will include a hint system, but we haven't written the hints yet. In the meantime, I recommend this let's play, if you're interested:

I don't know this player, but they do a good job of voicing their thought process, and, while they don't pick up on every clue's significance, they come close enough, IIRC (it's been a while since I watched it).

However, if you'd prefer me to tell you how a specific part can be deduced, I don't mind doing that. Just let me know here (I just wish itch would let me use proper spoiler tags!).

Lastly, you're right that even by the second scenario, the game is pretty tough. It isn't just you. Maybe it's a misstep on our part. We'll see!

All the best!

Oh! Sorry about that. Thanks for reporting.

Thank you! I haven't seen Birdman. Maybe I'll check it out.

Thanks so much :) And good to hear about Wine. Thanks for letting me know. I'll make a proper Linux build at some point.

Thank youuu!

Haha. Thank you very much :)

Yeah, sorry about that. A few players have mentioned it. I'll update the mouse sensitivity at some point soon.

Oh! Sorry to hear that. Did they seem to be caused by the game? Either way, glad the autosave came in handy!

Ha. Sorry about that. Thanks for your interest. You can wishlist it on Steam here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3342470/City_of_Voices/

Thank you :)

Yay! Thank you :)

Thanks, Ric. I didn't realise that was what that did. It should work now :)

Thanks so much, Honza :)

This was amazingly well put together. Excellent work! I look forward to playing whatever you create next :)

Really enjoyed this. A good level of challenge. I was never frustrated but it certainly wasn't trivial. Felt satisfying to solve. Great presentation, too. Looking forward to Surradia :)

Very glad to hear it. Thanks for taking the time to comment :)

I had a lot of fun with this. Solid puzzles, funny writing, and lovely DOTT-style art. Great job!

Fun little prologue. Lovely art!

Thanks!

Thanks, mate :) I had a lot of fun with Trapped on the Balcony. Congrats on your win at the AGS Awards!

Thanks so much :)

Fun little game. Great concept. Reminds me of Overboard, but I actually prefer the execution here. Fun writing and voice acting, too. Good job!

Thank you! Really happy you enjoyed it :)

Thank you! :)

Thanks :)

Glad you liked it!

Hey Megan. Thanks for the kind words. Glad you liked it :) And thanks for letting me know about the game freezing. I'll look into it.

Lovely little puzzle game. Original idea, well executed. Challenging enough to make finishing feel satisfying. Well done!

Thank you :) The backgrounds were done by the amazing Karl Dupéré-Richer (@TheSpecialKarl on Twitter/X).

Thanks, Mausimus. Much appreciated :)

Thanks so much, Honza. It's 8am and this comment has already made my day :) I loved Shards of God and The Witch's Lullaby.

Hi again! Just wanted to let you know that the game is now playable in your browser. I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks very much! Glad you had fun :)

Hey there. Once judging for the $107 Adventure Game Challenge is over, I plan on adding a version that's playable in-browser, and possibly also a Mac version. Thanks for your interest!
