Every early build will have the same amount of content, generally: 3-4 levels showcasing new enemies and mechanics. We are trying to roll out features slowly to have concentrated feedback.

My guess is one build per month or so. Stay tuned!

We are planning on releasing additional preview versions in the future. Possibly 3 or 4 during the development, and a closed backer-exclusive beta right before the release.

Both platforms macOS and Windows PC will be included. Thank you for your patience!

We have already been contacted by one of GOG's development specialists (Jacek Niemojewski). We definitely like the platform and are planning on selling a DRM-free version of our game there

You're right.

Our current schedule is one descriptive update per month. Stay tuned!

There is hope!

You have a good point!

It was never turn based.

Confederate Express is a non-deterministic real-time action game. Our focus is on micro (how you control a unit) and making cool moves!

I disagree completely on the visuals. But of course, ultimately it comes down to taste.

The game is solo, no squads or teammates. We found that unit selection mechanic brings in a lot of nuisance which breaks the flow state.

The reason is we went way over budget with Confederate Express. Goals set were too ambitious, with very little experience to back it up. Knuckle Club is an ugly child of an empty vain dream.

I can't share much details, but I can tell you that 2014 was a huge waste of time and money for us.

Thank you for your valuable feedback!

The anchor is a bit tricky to get used to. Here's a few points:
- Character will always choose a target closest to the anchor
- Character will not move towards the anchor if a chosen target is in front (within green area):

This is to prevent from running into crowds.

I have also tried removing anchor upon using the Dash ability - however, it was really clunky, and I really didn't like it. But this is a great suggestion, and I will implement a variable to "remove anchor upon dashing" so users can override it using console if they wish.

Thanks again for your suggestions, please chime in if you have any more feedback!

Edit: Just added the console variable to remove anchor on dashing; simply add the line u_dashanchor 0 to your config for it to take effect. Great tip, thanks again!

Come on, lighten up! :)

You need a dedicated video card.

Our setup is i7-3930k + GTX670 and it gets 150+ fps on 1080p easily. That's a 6 year old computer.

Thank you for understanding!..

...and banned!

Thank you rtbear! Your kind words mean a lot.

Please stay tuned, it's about to get much spicier!!

Please read the devlog, content has been limited in preview version

Guilty until proven innocent

We are rolling out content slowly to have a more focused feedback. Schedule is tight can't waste any time

Correct

I am glad you like it!

You also are right about the size - every asset is packed into the demo but we have limited what can be played. PC version very soon!

Yes, every customer with a key has access to all Confederate Express downloads on itch.io.

This includes kickstarter backers.

Please have faith. We are trying our best.

Early next week

All communication with Kickstarter backers will go through itch.io email system; so please stay tuned for detailed instructions!

It looks like nobody has been able to launch the preview version so far :(

We understand that macOS is pretty rare in the gaming world, but we simply didn't expect the number to be at 0! What a hilarious fumble.

That said, we have accelerated our efforts on getting a Windows PC version built. We estimate it to be ready early next week - hopefully it will alleviate all the concerns and doubt surrounding this project.

Please stay tuned! We are working hard to deliver.

Will Confederate Express be released on Steam?

Yes, Steam will be our primary platform upon release.

Why itch.io?

The alternative (Early Access) reminds us of Kickstarter: drab atmosphere, rumination, pessimism etc. Just doesn’t look appealing to us.

And with itch.io it’s completely different. We really love the platform, the tools are absolutely great. Also itch.io content matches our visual style and overall strategy. We feel at home here.

What about the Squattergate?

Yes, we ran out of money to pay rent in 2014.

Is the game actually being developed?

Yes, and it is as beautiful as you remember.

So far we have created a lion share of content (around 80%) - which took us over 3 years to complete. It was a painstaking effort and a tiresome grind. We love the end result - and if you have a mac we hope you'll like it too.

Why macOS?

The game is built entirely within macOS ecosystem - including tools and content. We strongly believe that when it comes to personal computers - the hardware and OS should be designed by the same manufacturer (Apple).
