will the next updates have update patches?? Its lowk annoying to download  the whole file again and again

hey so um Im new at this platform(itch io) and I've been checking the patreon and noticed that the platform where I play this game is two updates behind, and I see itchi io seems to have the latest update, but since it is not an online gaming platform, my question is if I have to download the game again for each update or how the update system works
