Update: I've updated the game based on your feedback! Now the enemy waves doesn't start automatically, you have to type a command for it. I also added the code editor so that the players doesn't always have to deal with the awkward terminal UI.

Thank you so much for the amazing feedback! We will definitely consider using a wave system and a "start" command to start the waves. To give users easier control and a chance to actually script, we might add an in-game code editor 😃

Anyways, thank you for playing!

dodging lasers fills me with DETERMINATION 😂

Many thanks! To answer to your question, the code we enter into the terminal is quickly evaluated and returned; this behavior is known as REPL Mode (Read-Eval-Print Loop), and it is similar to that of other terminals. For example, Mini Micro (which you should definitely check out) has been great inspiration for this.

Anyway, thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed it! 😄

Wow, thank you!! That seriously means a lot. Totally get not waiting the full 5 minutes, we kinda designed it to mess with your patience haha 😅

Really appreciate the feedback! Glad you enjoyed the game.

hehe.. the shiny red button had to be there😈
Glad you had fun and enjoyed the different endings!

Glad you felt that way! Yeah classic game jam struggle haha

Pro tip: you can just select the text on the paper, copy it, and translate it using a morse code translator or something

Haha thanks!

Yeah, we had this in mind. To minimize this without spending too much time developing the game, most actions are not limited by dialogue or some kind of clue. For example, if you already know how to get a numpad, hammer, etc, you can get it right away at the start of the game.
