The enemies hit back in this project, you just don't see any visuals for it and I'm used to avoiding the hit. And shooting projectiles is possible, but as I recall it was bugged at the time so I had to disable it. This all made in ver 2.0 when things weren't as stable as they are now.

Thanks, sorry for not replying sooner. I thought I did.

This was a lot of work. At the time Paper Maker had some bug and I spent a good chunk of time simply working around them. The engine is more stable now, though.

I didn't plan on releasing the project files but if someone wants to see them I have no problem providing them. You can find me on the Paper Maker discord.

Yeah, the 3D style was what drew me to the program years ago. I started porting retro graphics into it and got hooked right away. It's the only game engine I use now.

Hope you enjoyed the game. Did you finish it?

I liked it for what it is. Good presentation. Now I'm curious what happens next!

I'm going to put an ad for it in the next issue of the magazine - https://kevinofnine.itch.io/rpmm

There are a few different ways with states or the remove object command. I don't remember how I did it here, probably an empty state2. When you summon, teleport it to the spot then switch to a visible state1. You can download the project files and look at the code directly.

When you start a project in Paper Maker it's not blank. It's full of the default resources, including the tent obj. My game doesn't use those resources so they are not in my folders. They are in the program folders. Because you don't have the program installed, those files aren't on  your computer.

Now that I think of it, if you don't have Paper Maker installed and are downloading this to play as a game, don't bother. There's no real game here. It's a couple rooms with simplistic enemies that takes about 2 minutes to see everything. It's meant to teach others using Paper Maker how to make this type of gameplay.

If you really want to see it, then install Paper Maker and it should work. You may need to open the project in Paper Maker and hit test play.

I forgot about this. I uploaded ver 2.2, can you tell me if you still get other errors? I'm guessing you might, then I'll have to really gut this thing or just include the missing stuff.

I don't know if you ever got it working, but I realized the cause of this error and fixed it. Try ver 2.1

Fixed, download ver 2.1

I finally got around to opening this and I never had any errors when I converted it. I did more work on it and it's almost complete. I will be uploading the new version in a few days.

To see the true error you would need to click the console tab. I might not be able to solve it, but it can sometimes give a clue about the problem.

This was made in an older version of the engine. I'll have to look into it and try to update to the newer one and do a little more work. I stopped because it lags for me, but there was an improvement so it might work better now.

If you want this to work you can always reinstall Paper Maker and choose version 2.0.7. But it's pretty short and maybe not worth it yet.

Looking good!
