Ahhh another sucker who got stuck with golf, just like me. lol. what a thing to have to shoehorn in!

I enjoyed how you took to making that work. I know it took me quite a bit of mental gymnastics in my submission.

my stand out concept was your Contra power ups. chef's kiss!

I'm very excited to cut this down by at least 75%!!

what a learning experience this has been

my gratitude here man!

watching you try to read it was painful enough.  I got waaaaay too much shit in here.

gonna cut the map layout to a quarter of what it is and get to the good stuff earlier.

(1 edit)

"The box art, which features three completely generic-looking anime characters, was no help. Nor was the title. (What on earth is a “slader”?) "

that is the funniest bit in the inspo page I've ever read lol

You're so lucky to get Nightshade.

This is the first adventure jam I read that has a village. I'm a sucker for that. I just love a good town. Now..the page with buttons and command prompts. Bravo. Going above and beyond.

If I gotta make a shit sandwich here, I just don't like your choice of typefaces. From a graphic design stand point the typeface is too heavy and the leading needs to be increased. there is no, as we call it, " typographic grey." (eg: your BOLD is heavier than your Headings .. doesn't flow downwards in hierarchy) But, as in the modules of old...they basically had the same issues so maybe you intentionally did that.
in the end,
I'd add this one to my travel RPG kit, easily...because town...and pixel monsters NPCS!

thanks! can I upload a revision? I was going through all the buried in-game items you (and others have mentioned) and was thinking I could make some space for an "Items" call-out box on each relevant page.

(not sure where my previous comment went)
clicked because the cover was Snake s Revenge esque. Beaut. Loved the layout. Why fix what's not broken.

Star Gimmick was clever. I think that's a whole adventure in itself.

Admittedly I popped on this one because the cover was Snakes Revenge Esque.

I REALLY liked how clean the layout was. I see you followed SD layout and why fix what's not broken.
Also...star gimmick was clever and fun.

do not get me started on all the Space Quest, Kings Quest, Quest for Glory, Conquests games!!!!!

what a time to be alive

and so glad you enjoyed mine!

lol...if only I had a 9th page!!!

I feel you. but what a great excecise this was.

yes same... I was pretty "ho-hum" when I got golf and DuckTales...but hey...the mother of invention and all that.

appreciate you reading it!!

oh that's such an EASY fix !!!!! within 8 pages  tysm

thx for the feedback!

should I add a line that this entire document is GM facing? Would that help?

re: stat blocks: if I had one more page! after the jam I will add another page of the in game items. do you think it's necessary to reprint SD stat blocks that are in the books?

thank you for reading it!

LOVED the art style and loved the dungeon config as a robot.

apologies but did I miss something but what were the other two games in the inspo?

anyways fun little romp and as much as I hated youn choice of heading typeface, I simultaneously loved it for all the Sierra Adventure game vibes it gave me.

beaut submission

not gonna lie: I judge a book by its cover - and this was an auto download. LOVED the parody art style. Just beautiful.

loved the 32 levels and the 3d glasses.

I love too how one can plop this mountain into any current campaign or frozen hex crawl.

I'm keeping this one in my files.

and I'm always a fan just a document of keyed hexes/rooms. nice and simple to run without prep

loved the pixel art and room layouts as presented. block box cover was a nice touch

formatting wasn't ideal; centre justified type is hard to read and yeah, I know were going for 80s nostalgic typefaces and colours, but it's a bit hard on the eyes to spend alot of time reading.

but again the inspiration and the setup to the story were awesome
