I appreciate the response! Thank you for letting me know about the NPCs in the tavern being decorative. I was very confused since it seemed like I had picked the lock on the door but, was unable to enter. Maybe a clickable icon on the door that then opens up a window with portraits of all the interactable characters would be a suggestion? That way we know for sure who is actually interactable.
Good to know about the inventory! Thanks again!
I'm trying out the legacy build, seeing if I want to purchase the game. I've had some problems thus far but, not anything too bad. I have one large issue though. How do I actually enter the tavern? I see a bunch of portraits inside it but, I can't for the life of me figure out how to actually enter. Clicking on a lot of the portraits does nothing but circle the building.
Other than that I have a few small critiques, though I don't think it's anything new from what others have noted. If something I've listed here is actually covered in the game and I just missed it then, please forgive me for my tone and ignorance.
So far the writing is pretty good, if um... ridiculously long-winded. I love the characters but, it honestly does feel like some of the dialogue is just unnecessary. For example, a good bit of the bickering amongst the amateur adventurers that are at the tavern just feels like a chore to get through. Even though it does a great job of setting up the characters, showing us their personalities and relationships towards one another, and I love each of them, it's still all way too much. I think the biggest suggestion I'd have is a bit of writing advice (which I know is completely unasked for so, my apologies): Not every character in the party needs to respond to everything. Cutting down on some of the characters' responses would go a long way towards addressing the issue.
There needs to be a proper tutorial for what each of the symbols is. It can be as simple as highlighting each of the symbols on the map as you walk out of the Captain's Quarters, or even just giving us a list of what each symbol does, but it definitely needs to be more than what it currently is.
I'm collecting all of this stuff and I have no inventory to access any of it. Some of it seems to be actual equipment, while some of it seems to be trade goods, sellables, resources, and more? I'd love to have some way of looking at my inventory to see what I'm actually collecting.
An Esc. menu would be good too. Just something to let us access the options and have a way to exit the game. Alt + F4 is not a proper way to close a game, and over-use of it can actually hurt the files. It's an emergency shutdown for the current program and it's not meant as a go-to for closing your regular work.
I know it's been two years but, this is honestly just an idiotic statement and accusation. You're not paying anything for these passion projects so, no, it's not 'borderline criminal' to see a project get abandoned. As well, "Be patient" isn't the problem with this genre. It's burn-out and life. Shit happens, get over it.
I just checked further down the replies and found out the website for the game is more active. https://spookymilklife.com Latest update to the game was 1 day ago.
Mate, you troll around calling others' logic a 'trainwreck', meanwhile you blatantly ignore Runey's problems in life and then go, "Well it's not my problem".
It doesn't matter whether or not it's your problem. The entire point is that we're still receiving updates on the Patreon even if we're not seeing them here. People are literally telling you that the project isn't cancelled.
Just say that you want instant gratification and move on. Stop screaming at people for the (non) crime of telling you that you're jumping the gun.
Thank you for the suggestion! I tried it out and found about what I expected.
I have 16 GBs of RAM total. 6 of that is held up in other processes. I don't know much about RAM or how it gets used but, that feels a bit excessive right off the bat. However, when I go to start up the game it only climbs to about 9 GBs total being used. So it's definitely not using up my memory, which I interpret as it not being a memory issue.
This is for Runey: I did have another look at the traceback when I tested out my memory usage. The error message says: "I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred. After initialization, but before game start. error: Out of memory." Then it has the full traceback. As I demonstrated above, I don't think this is an issue of my memory. Maybe there's a memory leak glitch that can occur in some downloads?
I'm not so sure it is that. I could run the old version just fine, even up to just before updating the game. Nothing has really changed on my computer to warrant not having enough memory all of a sudden. It does also post a bunch of lines in the traceback. Is there a place I can send this to and maybe you can see if something else is acting up?
Just finished the 0.4 update and I have to say: This is one of the best harem games I've played in a while. The facial expressions are awesome and it's so great to see a wide diversity of body types and characters that actually look different! The girls are all so unique and it's so refreshing! I'm not used to the linear storyline but, you've done very well with it and I can't wait to see more story!
