Game guide:

WASD to move, left click to shoot and right click for a super-shoot. In the top left corner you have violence medallions. You can find more in the maps by exploring. You fill them by damaging and killing your enemies. You need a full medallion to be able to use your super-shoot, which will empty it. If you die while one of them is full, you will use one to revive from the remains of the last enemy killed. At the bottom left you have the dash-meter; once full, press shift to dash. Works on air too! Top right you can check your ammo: you start with 2 bullets plus an additional 2 per kill. Note that the super-shoot do not consume your ammo. If you run out of ammo you can press Q to punch an enemy to death. At the bottom you'll find the remaining time. You have 10 seconds to live, and each time you kill the time resets, so don't stop killing and keep an eye on the amount of enemies so you don't run out of fodder to keep living. You will find energy shields along your journey: break they purple-glowing antennas that power them to open your path. Lastly, you will find some enemies with an energy shield. In order to kill them you'll have to use your super-shoot or break their shields with a punch. But keep an eye on these enemies, because some shield antennas are also protected by energy shields, and one of these enemies from the surrounding area has the key: kill them to access the antenna so you can destroy it.

As for the levels:

Level 1. You start on a pool of your own blood and open your way through a destroyed city to the enemy base located at the other side of a cave complex accessed through the mall. You'll find your first energy shield here. One generator is at the end of the road below, and the other is in an alley in front of the energy shield next to your first extra medallion. Once broken, advance to the parking lot and enter the mall to finish the level.

Level 2. Here you'll find your first shielded enemy. The starting room is blocked by an energy shield with a single antenna protected by its own shield. One of the three shielded soldiers hold its key, so kill them all (or until you kill the right one) and the antenna will unlock for you to destroy it. Once you've exited this first room you'll find yourself in a bigger room with 2 stories, but you can't access the second floor from here. You'll see right in front of you a door with 2 shielded antennas, and 2 ways on left and right side, but the right way is locked by another energy shield that you can't open from here. Go left and kill every shielded enemy you see. Here, you'll see a (non-functioning) mechanical ramp leading the second floor. Go up and keep killing every shielded soldier (you don't know which one holds the key for the antennas). From here you'll see a rock barricade and a ramp that will allow to jump over it and reach the main hall from the second floor this time. On the right side you'll find a ramp that allows you to jump over the void and reach the second floor of the right area. Keep going and killing every shielded soldier in the broken mechanical ramp room and advance rapidly to the main hall from the main floor. You'll see the antenna locking the energy shield from before. Now you'll be able to open the way by destroying the two antennas that were previously shielded. Advance through the room full of enemies into a hole on the ground that will lead you to the cave system and end the level.

Level 3. As you turn the corner and see the true extension of the cave system you'll see 2 ways.  If you go straight (or slightly to the right, depends on your point of view) you'll see your goal: another energy shield blocking your way to the enemy base. There is also another energy shield that holds a medallion (with it you'll have 3 medallions if you picked the one in the first level, the max amount in the game). You'll have to go left and jump many platforms using your dash to be able to open the way. After the first jump you'll see two paths. One of them is shorter and easier which is the one in the front. If you turn to the left and jump on the longer path, you'll see an antenna behind a rock pillar. Break it to open the medallion energy shield. This path will lead you to the top part of the shorter path after this detour. Either way, keep advancing until you reach the long platform on the cave walls. This platform will lead you to the top of the cave. Here, there is the shielded antenna that blocks your exit. The soldier that has the key to that antenna is in this specific section on the top of the cave. Kill them, break the antenna and jump down to where you started. Be careful: you'll need to be quick to kill something when you land or you'll run out of time. On the cave wall you'll find the last medallion if you opened the door. Take it and advance through the cave to the exit of the level.

Level 4. This level is fairly short but it holds a challenge. Advance to the arena with a robot on the center and fight it. On the sides of the arena there are teleport stations that will spawn enemies nonstop, which will help you stay alive during the fight against the Sentinel, the final boss of this game. It can attack you melee with its chainsaw, with its plasma rifle dealing lots of damage and with a  missile shower. If you want a real challenge on this fight, play it on maximum difficulty without any of the additional medallions. After killing it, a door that was previously closed will open up, revealing the central control unit of the enemy base. Destroy it to stop your enemies from detonating the bombs that will kill your son.

TY <3!!! I wanted the player to learn what all the colors do through experimentation and level design, but as you said in only one night I didn't have time to polish that. Maybe in this case I should have added those instructions, but ideally I would have made a tutorial level in which you get used to one color before presenting the next one, so just by playing you would learn what each thing is. Like first a whole you can only exit with green, then a wall you need blue to pass and finally a floor you need red to cross. Then, the level with all them incorporated.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!! I definitely learned a lot about time management, scope and planning, specially how important it is to make things good since the beginning because I made a lot mistakes that snowballed into some developing obstacles that kept me from implementing a lot of things. All the positivity in the comments here really make me want to keep making games and get better at it <3

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! <3 Comments like this make me want to keep working hard on making games!!

My fave game of the jam so far!!! I didn't expect a metroidvania here, so finding this was a more than pleasant surprise!! Loved it!! Although the last fight got a bit too long and tedious by the end but besides that I loved every second of it!

Loved it. Really nice puzzle game with a lot of potential. Very intuitive and fun to play!

Simple yet effective. I liked it, and the guiding mechanics seem to have a lot of potential!!

I liked it, although it was really challenging for me (I was never good in 2D platformers XD). Amazing work!!

Really solid and fun game! I really can't say much because is just so good ^^

I love the idea of this game!!! A full game of this would be really fun to play!

The visuals are amazing! They really transmit the eerieness of being in a weird place, like somewhere that should not be but is. I really missed some music and I would have loved more levels ^^

Sadly the game gets stuck to me on arch linux, BUT I'll try to play it again tomorrow on windows, I really like the premise tho ^^

I liked it so much! The art style was great, the audio amazing... It reminded a lot to undertale in a good way. One question, I realized all enemies were avoidable, and I started avoiding them like halfway in the knight playthrough, did you have planned to have an alternate dialogue where things are different if you dodge the enemies??

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!! <3 Don't worry, even short review as these are great and warm my heart! I really appreciate it!

Amazing game!!! Everything on it was so polished and well done. I loved it!!

I loved the animations!!! The characters had a lot of personality. The only two things I could argue about it are the controls, as others already said, I kept too pressing space to jump XD, and I missed some background music too. Besides that, I really liked this game!!

Thank you so much!!! I was really insecure about this game because I couldn't make some details I wanted it to have to add more variety, like some puzzles that can only be solved by swapping characters and more decor on both scenarios to create points of reference. Still, this good reception motivates me to keep on my work, even if I had insecurities about it!! <3

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I really appreciate your words and you taking the time to play it! I'm very critic with it because I missed some marks I wanted with it, like making the character change more relevant to some puzzles and progression, and this version have a bug and doesn't get you the finish screen once finished too... My inexperience made me make a ton of mistakes that turned the game into a nightmare to develop to the point where if I want to do mayor changes I need to remake it from scratch. Still, I didnt expect this game to have this good reception and it makes me very happy and motivates it to keep with my hard work. <3

TYSM!Sadly there are a lot of things I missed, like more decor to help create points of reference both outside and inside, and I wanted the mechanic of changing to one sister to help solve the puzzles of the other to be more relevant than it is, but inexperience and time made it be like it. Still, thank you so much for playing it and your words <3

VERY COOL!! I wanted to play more levels, even did the secret ones. Only problem the platform colors makes them hard to read, and I missed some alternate controls to use the arrow keys (although that last bit is just personal preference). And the sound design is also really fitting.

I loved it!! The animations are really polished and the game is really fun to play!! The gravity change is also really fun. It really shows how much work and love you put on it =D

I liked it a lot. I played it on my own but will play it with brother again later today. The controls are easy to understand and the gameplay enjoyable. Only thing, the wholes on the ground confused me for walls sometimes, maybe making them blue?? To better represent that are an obstacle for the blue character. And for a moment I thought it was a bug when turning off both sides of the laser would turn it permanently. Besides that only 2 things, I really enjoyed it! I kinda wanted more levels XD. And the character design is great too!

Yes, that was something I totally wanted to implement, but I made this game because I was burned by making another game for this game, and I made in a single night because I had to still on the other (I slept 11h in 5 days XDD). Thank you so much for words!!! I really appreciate them :))

Thank you very much!!! I made it over a single night while working another game for this Jam because I had confidence problems on that problem, so I couldn't work much on the starting zones and progression. I like the player having to guess what colors do, BUT I definitely agree that it shouldn't have to be this way. What I thought was that the first time you get a color you get trapped unless you use it, but I only did that for green. I would have liked to make it with a smoother introduction to the mechanics and smoothing things like a the axis change.
Sorry if I sound like I'm being defensive because I don't mean to (it's just on text). Actually I'm very critic about my works and I like all kind of feedback (good and bad) because it makes my next works better. =D

Sorry, there was an end screen, but I seem to have forgot to make the trigger to it. I worked too many hours on it and when I submitted the game I had a total of 11h of sleep over the last 5 days. It was a very silly mistake on me to forget to link it properly. Still THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR KIND WORDS!!!! :DDD They made my day, I was very insecure about this game. Glad you liked it!!!
