If you right click a Playlist Folder name, you should get an option in the context menu to Shuffle. That's the only way I know at the moment to do that.

Hey, kai from the Cider Discord here!

The team is still migrating Cider Connect to a new provider, which means a lot of "rewiring" of the ways that Cider Connect works both on the website and in Cider. An update should be released on either the Cider Twitter or Cider Discord as soon as these changes are pushed to release clients.

Apologies for the inconvenience!

Hey, Kai from the Cider Discord here!

Plugins are a feature planned to be added to Cider, but currently are overshadowed by other development work (such as Themes). Check out the Cider X Page for updates on both Themes and Plugins (Currently Planned for Q2 2024). https://twitter.com/UseCider

Hello, Kai here!

Unfortunately, the Apple Music Sing implementation in Cider is only for the visual part of the lyrics, and not for the Vocal Attenuation. Vocal Attenuation (Adjustment of the volume of Vocals) is locked behind a combination of on-device and cloud machine learning algorithms, and is encrypted therefore not accessible by Cider. Sorry for any confusion that might've caused.

Huh, that's weird, I might've misunderstood the question. Regardless, I'll pass on that request to the dev team!

Hey y'all, Kai again!

At the moment you would need to donate through either Ko-fi, OpenCollective, or purchase the Discord Subscription to get beta/alpha access. In addition, you would need to be a member of the Discord server to be able to download these builds.  You cannot use your Itch.io or Microsoft Store license to get beta/alpha access.

This all is subject to change as Cider 2.3.0 releases today (hopefully, if everything goes smoothly).

As always, if you have any other questions feel free to respond to this, open a new topic in the Itch.io forum, or open a ticket in the Cider Discord!

Hey, Kai from the Cider Discord here!

Apologies for the huge wait time for Cider 2.3.0's release. To address the main concern of this thread, we do have a new in-app update system releasing alongside 2.3.0, which will almost entirely remove the need to wait for the builds to be released here. Instead, you will only need to watch out for the new update notification, and then update in the app itself! This will greatly reduce wait times for builds, and will also be used for those who would like to test out Beta and Alpha builds!

If you have any other concerns, feel free to head into the Cider Discord and open a support ticket, I would be more than glad to help y'all out!

Hi y'all! This is Kai from the Cider Discord server,

I'm not sure of this behaviour for previous Cider versions, but with Cider 2.3.0, the default limit for songs able to be queued is actually 100. This means that any playlist with over 100 songs will not shuffle all the songs. However, you are able to set that limit to any amount, including no limit, if you set the number to 0. This, however, may come with some performance issues, so make sure to keep that in mind when changing the value.

This setting can be found in Settings > Advanced > Library Queue Limit (Set to 0 for no limit)

Hi y'all! This is Kai from the Cider Discord.

With Cider 2.3.0 (releasing soon), closing the window does indeed minimize the client to the taskbar.

Hi everyone! This is Kai from the Cider Discord server (same handsome guy as the above screenshot). I understand the frustration of having to wait months for the software to update. This is due, however, to the dev team's almost daily implementation of new features and bug fixes. Due to how MS Store processes updates (which takes a lot of time), we would like to have a large, quality update, come out at the same time for all platforms. Cider 2.3.0 is just around the corner, and with it comes a new update system available in client, meaning that you will (almost) never have to install a new client through Itch.io again! This new update system is Over the Air, and will include branches for Stable, Beta, and Alpha feature sets, which will all have their own requirements, details later to be announced.
Again, apologies for the huge wait times, but Cider 2.3.0 is soon to be released!

If any of you have any questions or further concerns and would like to voice them, head over to our Discord server and open a support ticket!

Hi, this is Kai from the Cider Discord server.
Firstly, the MS Store version is not abandoned! Due to how Microsoft processes updates, it does take a long time to have anything update on their side. This is one of the major factors as to why Cider hasn't updated anywhere, we don't want to release an update everywhere BUT the MS Store! Keeping that in mind, we want to serve large, quality updates, which is also why there has been a large wait time, we have a lot of new features coming! Next, Itch.io is the latest and last storefront Cider is going to be released in. I understand that having different storefronts every few months is infuriating, trust me it was a hassle to try and get Cider on Steam (which was ultimately rejected by Valve). However, Itch.io is going to be the definitive store front for those looking for a one time purchase to get Cider on all their platforms. As for migration plans, it is a huge hassle to have every MS Store member have their license transferred, so unfortunately that is out of our scope.
Hopefully I could help! If you have any other questions feel free to open a support ticket in our Discord Server!

Hi all! This is Kai from the Cider Discord server. Unfortunately, due to how the team develops, updates are far in between as they add new features almost daily. However, with the new client update system, you will be able to opt in to regularly releasing updates to Cider without (almost) ever having to reinstall through Itch.io (some updates will require a full install). This will make the sparse and month long wait on updates a thing of the past! Again, sorry for the long wait times, but a new version is just around the corner!
