Well, I guess it's the latter

 So, it turns out all I needed to do is read the update log instead of just skimming through it, but I thank you can change the route in the content board after completing the first route. Thanks for the help

I kind of wish the dev added a way to reset a route and choose a new one, but I might just be dumb and can't find it in game
