Would be estetically more pleasing to do as in the picture imho, but more important, if a frame has different hole spacing from front to back, theyu most likely are narrowing over the whole lenght, not just the last millimeters :)

Would it be possible to make room for an ND filter (Runcam orange 5 can use the TBS nd filters made for session 5 cam's)
By making a small lip around the front edge, the filter will jam infront of the RC 5 :)
