Hey, thank you for your feedback, the ball handle/effects are made via the B button, check the RULES menu for more infos.
If you are good with the B button, you can send the ball 99% exactly where you want
I realized that it was not really clear. Maybe a v1.1 release can be good to fix that. I rarely see people using effects...
