Thank you both! I am making progress. it is A LOT of work. I have figured out the issues with the switches (I think), and I have the new material system figured out. I dont really have a timeline yet, but I plan on releasing the track and the first batch of locomotives and rolling stock at some point! then I will update as I add more and more stuff.

Haha, did you just delete your comment about the diamonds? I was just trying to respond to it when you did! lol but yeah hopefully you got it figured out! as for the crossings, they cause that because of the animated object extend mod. I couldnt figure out a way around it unfortunately. so I suggest you build with the animated object extend mod disabled, then enable it to play to make the crossings and diamonds functional
No way?? haha thats cool that they added a steam locomotive! how does it compare? I completely rebuilt my FEF-3 so I hope you guys enjoy the new update when it comes out! dissapointing that it uses diesel sounds tho.. that probably really takes away from the immersion?
rest assured tho! my Berkshire does use actual sounds from the 765 berkshire in particular. I found a YT video of NKP 765 taking off and then chugging down the track and cut it up for the different speeds in game. Its not perfect, but I think it turned out well? the FEF-3 uses the same steam noises as far as the chugging and stuff, but I have an authentic whistle from UP 844 for it too!
The trailer on flatcar cars have a trigger near the base of the 5th wheel! it does not actually move the attacher joint itself, that stays in the same spot as if the 5th wheel is always up (when I set it to move, it caused all hell to break loose when you load the game in bc the animations active every time you load the game in haha)
Thank you King! I appreciate that so much! my family and I are doing well. My wife and I have been very busy lately with life. I have been so busy that I still havent had the chance to take my PE test yet. I hope my work load calms down soon tho! but thank you again! your kind words mean so much to me. I am still here, just away for a bit
Sorry Sanders! I missed your comment somehow the first time. No, it is not my dolly, I didnt even edit it I dont think. I believe it is this one: Krampe Dolly Pack v1.0.0.0 - Modhub.us it has a single axle and double axle option I believe!
Howdy! the Metra control car should be in the rolling stock I believe? and the end of train device does cause issues that I havent fixed yet.. should probably just remove it for now. the tram you can unfold with mouse controls because the "fold" function was the only way I could move the character location to drive from either end! I dont love it, but it was the only way I could make it work how I wanted
Thank you! yes I have noticed that as well recently.. Im not sure if something changed in a giants update or what.. but I am going to take a look at it. they have the same "truck" setup as the freight cars even tho they look different, the physics are setup the same I believe, but I am guessing that the higher collisions (for the floor and wall collisions and stuff) might be causing it? I am not sure
Thanks friend! yeah I saw Zca had started converting stuff, from talking to him it sounds like it wasnt quite as good as in FS22? what are your thoughts? I still dont own 25 yet, but when I do I plan on converting my stuff! I probably have one last update for 22 tbh. I did end up going thru and changing all of the number fonts on the locomotives to make them match the fonts of the roads (that was a lot of work..) haha and I also made it so that ALL freight rolling stock have changeable stock numbers as well. It was a lot of work, but it added the final touches and I am pretty happy with it! I hope yall like it as well
Sorry for such a long response time, but yes there are triggers to remove the roof that make it much easier to get the cranes in place! there is a trigger in the warehouse near the mandoor, and there is a trigger in the loco shop on the opposite side of the repair/shop symbol! hope that helps. I am still around, jsut been away for a bit haha
Thank you! so this is how I run multiple units together, Ive put a consist together with 6 locomotives on the head end using this method:
- make sure the "cruise control" speed on all units except for the one youre going to drive is set to the max. That ensures that they are pulling no matter what speed you are at
- disconnect all units that you want to run in MU from each other.
- "change driving direction" of any locomotives that are running in reverse. The MU units that are facing forward dont need to be changed
- go to the unit directly behind the lead and set it to follow the lead unit, change the distance to 0, then pause it.
- go to the third unit, set it to follow the second unit that you just set, change the distance to 0, then pause it.
- repeat this process for as many MU locos as you have, setting them to follow the unit infront of them and then pausing them.
- Finally, get in the head unit that is not set for anything, connect all of the locomotives to it, and then use the follow me settings to switch between the locomotives and "unpause" them. This will make them start pulling
- Just set the cruise control on the head unit and it will control the speed of the entire consist, unless you have way too much horsepower then be aware the MU units could overpower you and speed out of control, in that case I usually just pause a unit or two to give the others something harder to pull against
I hope this makes sense? and I hope it works for you! if you have any other questions or need some more information on it lemme know?
