Really fun little game inspiring creative thinking and just enough prompts to help your imagination along. I chose just to draw the map rather than keep a mini journal but next time I will embrace the roll play a bit more and keep a journal. Very badly drawn digital map from my first playthrough below!

I love this game as a framework for collecting and engaging with all the wonderful things people have created in the world! It’s a great way to encourage not only consuming other people’s creative work but entering a dialogue and recognising the enjoyment their work brings.
I have a huge hoard of TTRGPs and board games in collections which I’ve yet to actually play, so I’m using this as a framework for exploring those, but I think it may also be really great for collating and engaging with others things. I’ve seen some fabulous reviews where people have used it for all sorts of things like albums and indie comics.
The game has actually prompted my first upload. I made myself a stylised notebook to keep track of my progress which I’ve uploaded to my page. It’s a PDF so could be used with a PDF editor, printed or uploaded so something like GoodNotes. The link is here - https://justlikeicecream.itch.io/heroic-archivist-notebook.
I did make a small rules tweak to make it better suited to my life - 500 points allows me to purchase my own pizza to ‘increase morale’.
Here’s an example record or a review I did whilst playing this game:
Thank you kumada1 for such a lovely little game!
This is a fun little game! I’ve played one round so far and I enjoyed it. Here are my thoughts:
Theme:
I love the theme and the way you’ve added a little bit of ecological nuance by adding a trade off with the pesticide option. It allows the player to inject a bit of personality by maybe making some moral decisions (I immediately knew I didn’t want to use it) and makes a point about the impact of chemical gardening which I love.
Instructions:
The instructions took a little bit of thinking to get my head around but it all became clear fairly quickly. I feel like some more thematic artwork and/or plot setting on the rules page could help get the player invested in the theme and story as that’s the first thing you access.
Gameplay:
I really enjoyed the roll & write mechanic, and balancing the energy vs biodiversity stats. The fact that that the player can use all or some of the points on the dice definitely encouraged strategising - in the early rolls I opted to use lower value options to increase my yields on later higher rolls, rather than jumping straight into 4s and 5s.
Difficulty:
It does feel like it could be a bit too easy - it may just have been my play-through but I won in about 7 rolls without too much stress. I did get down to 3 on energy but my willing piece got me back up to 7. It was nice to not be under too much pressure, but it did mean the game ended quickly. Next time I might aim for all 5 goals to draw it out a bit.
Anyway, thank you and well done for making this game!
