It is a bit frustrating that you first have to release the direction you want to leap in and there is no margin so you can release the mouse button a bit earlier or at the same time, and I think some parts of the level design could definitely be less generic and focus more on the main mechanic. It's best aspects are for sure aesthetics and feedback to the player, they make it really easy to learn how to play. Cool game!
Really liked this one. Easy to learn how to play, feels extremely rewarding to get the fish you want, and you don't even have to play a lot if you don't want to. You trace your objective, you complete it, you go, (and have fun in the process). This has insane potential for being a really addictive game.
We made the sandstorm with a shader that is getting fed a noise texture. It deforms that texture over time really fast, and with a yellow tint, it looks like a sandstorm! We're planning on making this game open source soon too, so I guess you can see that better there.
Also, sorry that it might be a bit slow to start. I was thinking maybe in a future post-jam update we could make configurable how fast the countdown is, because after you get used to it it kinda feels slow.
Thanks for your review! Vector and I will start voting soon together. Exited to try your game!
