If you restart the day from the main menu, it should work normally! Worst case scenario, just relaunch the game, and your progress will save🙂. We're sorry you caught that a bug! We've been perplexed by it ourselves. 

(also I wouldn't trust the browser version, the downloadable is more reliable)
