The game is completely made in html css and js in Sublime text. The introductory video was made in unreal engine 5. According to the original idea, two gameplay should have been combined.:
1 - the scientist who was arrested, his escape and further return to the servers (unreal engine). It was supposed to be a horror stealth adventure game.
2 - the AI itself, what you were playing (running a web game inside an unreal game with an embedded browser)
The fact is that due to lack of time and effort (I made the game alone), the scientist part felt rudimentary, so it was decided to cut it out (because of this, it is difficult to put together a complete picture of what is happening)
I use google docs + starc to plan the plot, script, and game design documents for my games and movies.
I still rarely use pureref and twine.
If you want to give the player the opportunity to peek through a crack in the door, I've come across such mechanics in games.:
For the first interaction, the door opens quite a bit (the same crack), for the second it opens completely (well, or already with the body of the character)
I'll be glad if any of this gives you some cool ideas!
Amazing style, I love it! I think you have a lot of potential for a steam release. but!
1. Opening the doors is inconvenient for me, you can make a setting with a choice of the method of interaction.
2. Optimization, I seem to have a stable 60, but there are very strong fps drawdowns at times.
3. This is a debug build, so errors and other information are displayed in the upper-left corner.

1. Что касается упомянутой деревни и общего лора — вы правы, вступительный ролик дает лишь общее представление о происходящем. Это было сделано намеренно, чтобы оставить пространство для фантазии и личной интерпретации игрока. Более подробная предыстория и элементы мира описаны на странице проекта, но, к сожалению, из-за ограничений по времени (всего 3 дня на реализацию) не все удалось встроить в саму игру.
