Thank you! I definitely can see how some post effects could deepen the sound and dynamics of the piece. I'll keep that in the memory bank for next time.

Thanks! That’s kind of what my brain led me to make. I’ve been wanting to do a piece like this for a while. And this was a perfect opportunity for that.

Thank you!

Thanks! Glad it brought you back. :)

Thank you! Yes, I can def see that.

I agree with you on the bubble synth! I questioned my settings, but then also enjoyed the little bit of chaos it injected.

We raised money for a year to be able for our rural public middle school (aka WE LOVE FOOTBALL over funding arts) to have the steel drum set. Our band teacher was new and an advocate so it became a part of the band program there. Really lucky I crossed paths with that teacher.

Thank you. That's what I was hoping it would convey.

Yes! Was hoping the nostalgia would kick in. ☺️

Aww thanks! 🙏🏻 it was from the heart

You definitely captured the atmosphere and got across the title of your piece!

Beautiful piece! It reminded me of an anime movie soundtrack a little bit.

I thought this was a beautiful piece.

Nice atmosphere and instrument selection!

Really nice. I could feel the tension between looking forward to traveling and having apprehension about the journey ahead.

I liked your idea of doing waves through volume auto and panning!

Awesome work! I could see this extending into another section with strings.

I followed a tutorial and then modified it as needed! And yes, it provides the atmosphere. I also personally love the bubble synth solo 😂

Thank you for the feedback! I can definitely see the SpongeBob reference. 😂

Very groovy. I like it.

What a gorgeous song. I closed my eyes and floated away.

Epic atmosphere and emotion! I felt like I was on the ship!

That was really fun. It sounds like the way I sleep - lay down, start overthinking too much while trying to get comfy, and then boom. Asleep. lol

I enjoyed your expression of the contrasting elements.

I really enjoyed your piece! The 2nd half felt like I was either in a horror game in the water or a 007/Goldeneye underwater bunker trying to locate and diffuse the bomb. lol Good atmosphere and I believe you achieved what you set out to do.

The track did feel like I was traveling under water in search of something a little beyond my reach. It sounds like the song is the act of finding Atlantis and not actually finding it. Nothing wrong with that! Just my impression from the mood and direction of the composition. Nice stuff!

I really liked the melody and the instrument selection felt nice.

It might be cool to hear it broken up a little bit more maybe into softer parts and quieter parts. There were a few instruments playing notes consistently, and I bet it'd be more dynamic with some spacing between melody repeats and B sections.

Awesome!

Lovely and nostalgic. :)

I liked the curiosity of your piece. Towards 1 min 45 seconds I started hearing a theme.

My two cents: If you decide to do something without a set key or time signature, it can start to feel disjointed if you're not careful. I'd suggest 1) finding some way to show a steady rhythm -- even a quiet drum in the background or a steady melody/harmony can help with that, and 2) in some way show a theme or melody throughout. I got some of the theme through your instrument selection, but I wanted more.

Can't wait to hear more from you!

Excellent groove! I had fun listening to it.

Nice guitar/mandolin work! I really enjoyed the idea and execution. I'm going to say it was a bar fight for part B. lol

I feel like it'd be great for a character exploring a submarine or ocean vehicle in the deep dark ocean. I also learned about hydrophones! Great job!

I like the buildup of intensity. The middle section for some reason reminded me of M83.

Thanks so much! It def came from core memories as a kid.

When the middle section comes in, it makes you want to move! Good emotions in there!

That melancholy piano got me in the nostalgia and reminded me of swimming in the lake as a kid. Good stuff!

I feel like this would be perfect for a dark souls game or adventure RPG. The atmosphere is great.

I dare say this is one of the best mastered entries. I had to get up and dance around...lol

I loved the way you interpreted 'Peace' -- I felt like the drums were like waves and I could hear the mist off the waves in your selection of instruments and notes. It was just enough energy to feel peaceful and bouncing to a solid beat!

Wow! I really do feel like I'm going down and down as each new layer is introduced, and add some jazz on top of that. *chef's kiss* I also cannot believe that's your first time using your own voice in a piece. That extra effort paid off.

I'm obsessed with your interpretation of the Wii theme and bossa nova beach. Great piece!

Also, if you need supplemental sounds within the theme of this tune, let me know. I’ve been wanting to expand beyond just the main theme because let’s be honest, games have lots of sounds!
