A light ARPG with great potential but some glaring issues and oddities. With some changes this could be excellent. It seems like the developer has the skills to make great games but nobody really tested this one.
Initially the game seems a bit underwhelming. Dungeons have only one enemy type and dull environments. Towards the end the game gets much better with multiple enemy types in one dungeon and visually great looking environments, also a few funny moments. The game really does not need this many different dungeons / missions if only the dungeons had more content. The randomly generated dungeons are good and this should be utilized more.
After completing the game I found myself repeating some dungeons with "magic find" gear in hopes to gain better loot. This is where the game could really shine: Diablo style looting and randomized worlds with a bit more depth on the items and combat, and more enemy variety. Right now after finishing the game you can replay the dungeons with added difficulty, but I would prefer to replay the whole campaign with "nightmare / hell" difficulty and better loot.
And here are some negatives that I hope to be fixed:
- Most of the time you will have a hard time picking items up because the indicator wont show up
- If you pick up an item, you wont drop the item you are holding. It will disappear (???)
- Exits and missions are confusing, dungeons have sort of a plot but mostly they make no sense
- Game gives you no guidance. You might be tempted to skip fights but in some levels you need to kill all the enemies to get forward, this is not mentioned
- Easy bossfights. Pretty fun concepts but clearly not adjusted for difficulty
Really hope that this one will be developed further
