Ah, thank you. I was confused because both my games no longer show CTR in analytics! So weird.

Thank you for the awesome feedback and review! I have had some comments about people being surprised to get the other person's card - but it can be a good strategy to block their row on the edges/holes!
I'm not sure why it's not indexed - it's public and has all of the the data... did you manage to rate it?
I will check out your game today and leave feedback :)

Hi all! I haven't posted my game here before, butI just pushed a big update to SLAMWICH, a two-player card placement game where you sandwich ham between bread on a 6×6 grid. It's the kind of game you can pick up in 30 seconds but it can get tactical planning several moves ahead. I thought it was a big enough update to warrant a post (hopefully!).
Play it here: https://johnreno.itch.io/slamwich
What's in the update
- Beat FishBot to climb levels. Each one adds random holes to the board that break up slamwich lanes and force you to think differently.
- Animation and UI polish: the slam itself feels properly satisfying now, and the general design is cleaned up and simplified.
- New art and custom illustrations replacing the placeholder emojis.
- Also you can play with a friend on the same device, taking turns. See if you can outsmart a human too!
Looking for feedback
This is my first real solo game on itch and I'd love to know what's fun and what isn't. If people like it, I have ideas for condiment modifiers (mayo? mustard?), new card types, deeper FishBot levels, maybe online play down the track. But I want to hear what you'd actually want to see first.
Thanks for taking a look. Have fun, and let me know if you get a crazy win streak. :)
You're so kind, thank you! The original game had such a weird and creepy atmosphere for how simple and basic the graphics were, I really wanted that to come through - plus adding some tongue in cheek humor too!
The audio was inspired by games like Banjo Kazooie and Balatro where the themes change seamlessly so you're always immersed - hats off to those guys.
Thanks so much again especially for testing and reporting the bug! I'm keeping an eye on your game and future work, can't wait to see what you cook up.
Holy moly, thank you SO much for such a detailed and kind comment. It means so much to me.
I'm thrilled that you had a fun time. It's exactly what I was going for - a kind of twitchy Quake 1 boomer shooter feel, but also some quiet stealthy exploration when running low on health.
And thank you for the MP3 bug report - I was preloading music to prevent any lag spikes but some browsers interpret it as a download request, and I'm on Mac and didn't spot it. Fixed now, sorry about the confusion. Let me know if you play and it triggers at all.
Again, thank you so much, it means a lot to have someone play and leave genuine feedback, especially a game developer too. Good luck with your games!
P.S. if you're curious, here's what the original game was like - it's also on the TV when you walk into the house as a little easter egg ;)
