Ah, thank you. I was confused because both my games no longer show CTR in analytics! So weird.

Thank you so much for the kind feedback! Opponents cards are useful to block them on corners, so they can be very strategic.

Appreciate the review and I will check out your game today and leave feedback too.

Thank you again for playing!

Thank you for the awesome feedback and review! I have had some comments about people being surprised to get the other person's card - but it can be a good strategy to block their row on the edges/holes!

I'm not sure why it's not indexed - it's public and has all of the the data... did you manage to rate it?

I will check out your game today and leave feedback :)

Nice remake, I loved this game as a kid!

Hi all! I haven't posted my game here before, butI just pushed a big update to SLAMWICH, a two-player card placement game where you sandwich ham between bread on a 6×6 grid. It's the kind of game you can pick up in 30 seconds but it can get tactical planning several moves ahead. I thought it was a big enough update to warrant a post (hopefully!).

Play it here: https://johnreno.itch.io/slamwich

What's in the update

  • Beat FishBot to climb levels. Each one adds random holes to the board that break up slamwich lanes and force you to think differently.
  • Animation and UI polish: the slam itself feels properly satisfying now, and the general design is cleaned up and simplified.
  • New art and custom illustrations replacing the placeholder emojis.
  • Also you can play with a friend on the same device, taking turns. See if you can outsmart a human too!

Looking for feedback

This is my first real solo game on itch and I'd love to know what's fun and what isn't. If people like it, I have ideas for condiment modifiers (mayo? mustard?), new card types, deeper FishBot levels, maybe online play down the track. But I want to hear what you'd actually want to see first.

Thanks for taking a look. Have fun, and let me know if you get a crazy win streak. :)

Oh that's awesome, you created an amazingly faithful version! Did you ever play Tiny Wings? It reminds me of that but Rally - haha! Fantastic job again, it's super smooth and I love balancing speed with not flipping over.

Oh and did you ever play Elastomania? You might like that too!

You're so kind, thank you! The original game had such a weird and creepy atmosphere for how simple and basic the graphics were, I really wanted that to come through - plus adding some tongue in cheek humor too!

The audio was inspired by games like Banjo Kazooie and Balatro where the themes change seamlessly so you're always immersed - hats off to those guys.

Thanks so much again especially for testing and reporting the bug! I'm keeping an eye on your game and future work, can't wait to see what you cook up.

I never played the original, but this is so much fun! The physics are so satisfying and I love seeing the live leaderboard update when I play. Can't wait to dive in more after work!

Holy moly, thank you SO much for such a detailed and kind comment. It means so much to me.

I'm thrilled that you had a fun time. It's exactly what I was going for - a kind of twitchy Quake 1 boomer shooter feel, but also some quiet stealthy exploration when running low on health.

And thank you for the MP3 bug report - I was preloading music to prevent any lag spikes but some browsers interpret it as a download request, and I'm on Mac and didn't spot it. Fixed now, sorry about the confusion. Let me know if you play and it triggers at all.

Again, thank you so much, it means a lot to have someone play and leave genuine feedback, especially a game developer too. Good luck with your games!

P.S. if you're curious, here's what the original game was like - it's also on the TV when you walk into the house as a little easter egg  ;)

Well done, that FishBot is slippery!

Thank you so much, thank you for playing! Definitely want to add more humor, Jawbone is a funny guy! Thanks so much for your feedback and good luck with your game too.

Looking cool - keep it up!

Thank you so much, that's so incredibly kind of you to say. I want to potentially add features like a win streak or different shaped levels too, open to any ideas!

Gorgeous art style, what a vibe. Incredible work!

Amazing, can't wait!

Beautiful game, congrats :)

Wonderful game, love the SFX and vibe! Amazing talent! I need to check out all your other work. :)

This would have been a top 5 Master System game if it came out in the 80s! Well done :)

Incredible game, can't wait to play it again!

Gorgeous game, what an amazing effort. Well done :)

Amazing idea and execution. Never knew bats had so much blood in them.

Whoa, what an amazing idea! Can't wait to try it out.

Thank you so much for your kind words, your work is incredible so it means a lot!

Incredible achievement with the size and fun to boot! Well done, a real inspiration.

Nice work - Alex Kidd is so underrated!

Amazing remake! It looks amazing. Funnily enough I just remade Ghost House in 3D - check my page if you like. Great work :)

Hilarious remake! I just remade Ghost House in 3D too - check it out. :)

Gorgeous game, well done.

Awesome and hilarious game - love the look and feel of the style. And I had no idea Godot could do 3D so nicely. Great work!

Funny game! It would be good if the platforms carried you along instead of needing to move the mouse with them.

Fantastic art style and concept, well done and congratulations.

Absolutely breathtaking art style! Congratulations.

Cute idea for a roguelite! Small suggestion - preload the card symbols so they don't load when you flip a card, they're blank for a few moments.

Fantastic game!

Released some major updates including content and huge optimizations. Should run as smooth as butter!

Really clever idea for a roguelike, the card animations are really satisfying too. Maybe more variety in the early game would improve replayability. Great work!

Great game idea and great music, looking forward to seeing what you add to it.

Great graphics! Developing for the Master System is awesome, nice work.

Haha this is great, the movement feels really satisfying. Nice game!

Great game, it's like Micro Machines V3 but more fun!
