then stop using it

because it has nothing in common with the game "Rogue."

It's neither.

You have fundamentally misunderstood roguelike in its entirety to the point you've made an arcade game.

This isn't a roguelike.
It's a fairly well made arcade game in the vein of asteroids, or geometry wars, but this is in no way, shape, form, function, or reality a "rogue" like.

no.

So you've made a blobber and just decided to call it a roguelite cause it's run based? Eh, pass.

Here's the problem with that:
Itch.io doesn't care.
They want wide appeal and they will likely use the most widely usable(even if misused) term and definition even if it runs counter to what the term means at its core.

Can you not call this a roguelike.

Roguelite.
Roguelikes are tile based, turn based, proc-gen strategy RPGs with permadeath.

this is just proc-gen and permadeath.

None of those are roguelikes either. They're a butchery of the tag

Cool game but can you not tag it as a roguelike?
this is rogue:

is your game like rogue in a large measure? No? Then its not a roguelike, the same way mario isnt a metroidvania just cause its a sidescroller.
