Really strong grimdark atmosphere and excellent worldbuilding. The Titan combat felt heavy and brutal, and the final scene with the molten gold was incredibly memorable. I also liked the critique of war as spectacle and business. Great story overall!

Really interesting story with a strong philosophical core. I liked the irony of Alexander finally experiencing real emotion only at the moment he faced death. The ending was simple but very effective.

Really haunting story. I liked how Hank’s fading memories and quiet confusion made the whole piece feel more tragic than horrifying, and the final detail with the flea was incredibly memorable.

Really powerful story with an oppressive atmosphere from beginning to end. I especially liked how Seraphiel’s presence felt both comforting and terrifying at the same time, and Elias’ gradual surrender to the truth made the ending hit very hard. The final image of him burning his ancestors’ remains was unforgettable.

Beautifully written story. I really loved the contrast between Len’s simple humanity and Othmara’s emotional emptiness, and the apple became a surprisingly powerful symbol throughout the piece. The atmosphere felt melancholic and reflective in a way that stayed with me long after the ending.

Really strong and intense story. I liked how the protagonist slowly realized he wasn’t invincible, and the repeated “Another bullet hit” made the fear and desperation feel very real. The ending was brutal and very fitting for the grimdark setting.

Really unique concept and atmosphere. The ending was incredibly strong, and the idea of a prophecy-based civilization facing the unknown was executed beautifully.

Incredible atmosphere and a really strong ending. The industrial sci-fi horror and emotional tension worked perfectly together. One of the most memorable entries so far.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and character dynamic in this story. Matthias and Sylwen felt like believable companions who had survived far too much together already, and the mix of tension and dry humor worked very well. The bridge sequence with the drums in the fog created a great grimdark fantasy vibe.

Really enjoyed the emotional atmosphere of this story. The contrast between the horror of the invasion and the hope brought by the blessed sisters worked very well, and the final scene left a strong impression.

Really strong atmosphere throughout the entire story. I especially liked how the Ratmen were portrayed—not just as monsters, but as victims shaped by cruelty and experimentation. R-Prime was genuinely unsettling, and the final reveal about the “extraction” gave the ending a lot of impact. Very fitting grimdark sci-fi.

Really enjoyed this one. Quentin felt very human and relatable, and I liked how the story focused more on duty and perseverance than on glory. The final lines were simple but very powerful. Great emotional pacing and a strong use of the “Impossible” theme.

Really enjoyed Fool’s Gold! The atmosphere, pacing, and dialogue felt very natural, and the story fit the OPR universe perfectly. The ending was especially strong and memorable.

Dmekar was a really strong character throughout the story. His confidence and fanaticism carried the entire piece, and the balcony scene did a great job showing both his ambition and cruelty. It felt very fitting for the Age of Fantasy grimdark setting.

This story had a very unsettling atmosphere in a really good way. I liked how the communications slowly became more distorted and abstract over time, making the psychological collapse feel gradual instead of sudden. The final transmission and the decision to send another unit afterward hit especially hard.

Really enjoyed the dialogue in this one. Salome feels both powerful and strangely vulnerable at the same time, especially during the conversation about death and legacy. The ending line about dying at the hands of the mightiest warrior in the galaxy was a great way to close the story. Very fitting for the Grimdark Future setting.
