Yeah I am not that experienced in platforming tbh or 2D ones at least. I tried making it more interesting but ended up having to rehash stuff to make the game longer because before it as gonna 5 levels in total to keep the person attached to the game but we didn't have enough time to make the assets as per the geometry not having sprites. I wanted to lean into puzzles and stealth events more than just parkour but I was kinda lacking in programming that. And the time travel was just more thematic was our interpretation but since we didn't get to complete the full vision we barely even got to use the theme. And that there was gonna be a function in which players get rewinded if they didn't make to check points on time raising the stakes for the player. But thank you for playing, it was very appreciated! 💖

Yeah the level design was supposed to be way more dynamic. We were gonna take grandpa actually into the past because the lore before was he was going in the past to destroy inventions he helped create with some of them being wacky like a tamagotchi. He was gonna do things like hide behind moving crowds in the streets of Tokyo, so basically moving hideables. And cows that were hideables that moved periodically after you unhid. The time travel was more gonna be a thematic part but like I mentioned before I wanted to make this a more difficult game and try to add depth by putting in a timer that made you rewind to checkpoints if you didn't make it to the next check point on time. Sadly there were too many complications that made us not be able to create our full vision. With the execution not landing very well either with that being the biggest part imo. It's just things like the zoom are because the level was made with a capsule that in hindsight was too small so we had to zoom in on the finished sprite because it was barely visible. Mostly I've taken away that I need to lower the scope of what I can make and that I should have been on top of working on this more. Though I think all of us on the team had something personal going on so. Thank you for playing though, I was worried no one would even comment or play tbh 💀

Yeah I lowkey didn’t think about this enough. I knew where everything was so I didn’t even think about the perspective from a new player. But originally the camera was much more zoomed out but we had to zoom in to make the sprite of the character somewhat visible sadly. Yeah and we weren’t sure if toggle or hold was better for crouch so we just went with what we made first. Thank you for even playing our game though. Originally it was so broken when we exported 😭

Thank you for the comment. Yeah originally the scope of the game was way larger. Probably too large for a game jam imo. Like there were gonna be a lot more stealth events and different levels but we just didn't have time to code or make assets for them. Moving hideables, steam pipes blocking line of sight, cameras, and etc. Also there was gonna be a time factor where you needed to get to the checkpoints before time reset. But we sadly didn't have the time, thank you for playing though! 🙏
