This is easily my favourite game of the calendar so far. A genius puzzle with simple and elegant mechanics that lead to engaging and deceptively hard solutions (and the hints have a bunch of cute character art!).

Made it very surreal to scroll down and see my puzzle from last year’s calendar recommended! Thanks for the shout-out, glad you enjoyed it!

I just added the hints and solutions I’d been putting off for a while, hopefully that helps. Here’s an answer to your specific question, too.

You solve the trees by connecting them like a dot-to-dot puzzle. Each row of trees indicates the order you should travel between them to trace out a letter in the 3x3 grid.

Only post here if you have completed all three Chapters.

If you think you’ve discovered multiple plausibly valid solutions to a Puzzle, post it here I’ll either fix the Puzzle or add your alternative solution to the Invalid Word Checker.

To help me out, please state: Chapter # - ANSWER 1, ANSWER 2, etc

I should be able to tell which answer you’re referring to by the first letter.

Thanks for helping improve The WORD GAPS!

They were all gone, but since you asked so nicely I’ve added 10 more. Get them while they’re hot!

If you end up running the module I’d love to hear how it went!

Oh huh, I didn’t realise that use of the word was spelt that way. Learn something new every day!

Hey, you made something really cool! You don’t have to explain to me why game dev is hard!

You should be proud of what you made, I’m just providing my impression of the game. Best of luck with your future projects!

Glad to hear it! Keen to hear how you go with the rest of it!

Response to your Spoilers

Your paths and conclusions are indeed correct. What does this mean? All three people pass through the Master Bedroom, and only one of them (the murderer) was ever in a room with a dead body. If this is true, only one of these three suspects could’ve killed them. Hope that nudges you in the right direction!

Really cool game! I think the biggest improvement I'd love to see is something reminding me where I found each clue, since you end up with copious evidence but can't remember where you found it and hence who it implicates. I also found myself spamming clue+target pairs a lot since a lot of them seemed to have logic I didn't understand (Why can't I use the key to go to the place its initials suggest? Why does this clue mentioning two people have to be used on a specific one of them? Why does this clue that mentions a person have to be used on their storefront, not themselves? Also, why is this the combination to the safe?). Other than that (and failing to realise I could scroll the phone and restarting the game XD) it was a really fun experience!
