Got quite a bit more done. Implemented a health system and core mechanic along with it. When you are outside the range of the fire, your health will decrease. When within the range of the fire, your health will increase.



I've also implemented a checkpoint system with the fires. Got some spikes set up as prefabs to use.


I have transitions between scenes set up. Getting the checkpoint system to work and spawn the player in the correct spot after loading a new scene was quite a challenge and required more time than I would like to admit.


Unfortunately, at this point I'm unsure whether I'm going to be able to get enemies in the game in any real way. I plan on implementing obstacles such as spikes and what-not. We will see if there is time!

Hey There!

This is my first actual game that I'm going to be working on to "completion".  Everything I've done before has been personal projects that never get finished. With that being said I have never done a devlog before, so bear with me! 

Concept

The idea behind my game is that you are an adventurer that gets stranded in the cold landscape. You must find your way back to town and safety (and Warmth!) by navigating winding paths and fighting your way through enemies. 

Objective

1)Don't Freeze & Get back to town.  2) Navigate platforms to achieve objective 1.  3) Fight your way through enemies to achieve objective 2.

Style

1)Pixel art.  2) Platformer.  3) Hack-n-slash (Hopefully)


Progress

Implemented the player controller basic script. (got the player moving and jumping) 

Got some of the art into the game, though animations haven't been hooked up yet. 

Implemented some of the platforms, though mostly just a test environment.

Got Some of the animations hooked up.

Finished a basic level layout.


1/30/2020

I got more of the animations hooked up. Mainly the attack animations.

Implemented a dash with a particle effect.

Can't really show it but I also got a good amount of sound into the scene also. All the attacks, the dash, footsteps and even some wind!
