A professional Rogue! I always loved the DOS version but did find it quite frustrating at times, with this game I wanted something in between.. Although to be fair, I still had to make regular snapshots to have any chance of finishing it :D

Thanks! yeah they can be a pain :D Food and drink were both present for quite a long while, but in the end I decided the game was too easy with them so made the health potions more common

Thanks for playing! Yeah, the rotten eggs etc aren't actually edible - just junk, the only consumable to regen health are the potions.

Initially the keys were supposed to reflect those of the original Rogue albeit a bit more Spectrum friendly.

Had a quick test on the Omni this morning and its looking good (if it works on there it'll be fine on the Toastie/+2B). Can't wait to get into the game proper now!

Have run into a problem though, seems Kempston isn't working. I've loaded from tape (easy and normal) on a Toast Rack and +2B as well as divmmc on a ZX Omni and when I select Kempston it waits for input after the intro text but doesnt accept fire on the joystick or any keys.

I probably should the put the aim of the game in the description, thanks for pointing it out  😆

Invert the board. You start with a star surrounded by black holes, blow those stars up until you get a black hole surrounded by stars :)

There is currently underway a competition between saucerbrain and SpectrumNez on twitter to see who can get the highest score on hard - the scores they are getting I can't even get on normal!
