I can't do anything

thank you! yeah its kinda buggy in my other game jams i did a better job at creating a finished game, but i ran out of time with this one. Thank you for playing.

i know, the build is stuck on butler :(

:/ feel thats a bit unfair considering some people are marketing their game on this forum. Not supposed to advertise on a game jam

is the final rating of a game influenced by if people played a game 10 times, or 200 times?
I feel like once a game goes to the top page, all people just start playing that game and i saw the first one had like 300 ratings few days ago,.The link to games with a low rating amount is a great idea, but i notice that in a jam of this size, a lot of games end up somewhere in the middle with low visibility.

If the ratings is independant of the amount of ratings then i guess its fine, just wondering

i find it hilarious you made this on tic-80 and you added the tic-80 to the project folder and we have to ope nthe game with it :D figured it out after a while. game itself is pretty basic.

clever mechanic, but can be expanded and improved by a lot. Maybe its an idea to keep working this game out?

password protected warning, im not downloading this

its just the godot project, you have to export it, i cant play it (maybe can play it with godot)

very very well made game, the art is beautifull, the level design is very clever, using the little bookcases as jumping pads. Got kinda stuck in the room with the 3 doors and i didnt know what to do with chemical x :/ , good job!

the pixel art looks nice, i think the sound effects need work, they dont sound accurate and are too loud. I tyhink the movement with the card going up is nice and i think you could have done more with that mechanic.

i wasn't such a big fan of the movement as it was kinda hard to navigate, but thats probable a preference thing. you implemented the theme well and the combat felt cool

i think your background might be art possibly, because atmospherically this game was amazing, and well done on the intro. mechanically it was a bit less for me, movement felt a bit clunky and its hard to see where to go and combat could use some improvement as well.

this was a really well polished game, good job! the music was very relaxing, main charcter looks cool. Sometimes the movement was a bit too responsive, you can tweak a few things there. the grappling mechanic worked really well very smooth, fun level design, really good job!

I did ma,nage to break the game after i took the star i started floating and i just kept floating out of the game :D

me too

Thanks for the feedback! ill have a look at the audio, that slipped past me

Thanks for the insightfull feedback

haha :D keep it up, its possible :)

very cool game, i like the sound design and you created a cool athmosphere, i think its a simple mechanic but you executed it well, good job!

pretty cool game, love the design of the main character, movement is a little bit clunky, but the gameplay is kind of addicitng, which is a good sign

i think the player wheel is a bit bugged, i had the orange part like 8e times ina row, while looking at the distribution it should be about 40%. There might be some potneital here but as it stands the loop is a bit too boring for me.

i love the artstyle and the visuals. Gameplay was a bit lacking, the creatures come too fast, you have no time to react and the loop is a bit too simple for me.

very cool game, i like the vibe and artstyle, good job on doing that yourself. Also the gameplay is fun and kinda addicting. which shos some potential. Also found a little glitch butyou can just keep spinning until the screen starts going crazy. good job!

i like the athmosphere of the cave, the walking and jumping speed feels a bit off, like i am walking trough water, also im kinda stuck immediately, i cant make the big jump on the platforms even after 5 attempts, hich made me lose motivation to play. even tough the gun looked fun

There are some really good things here, the animation and movement is smooth. I really like that you drew your own art and i think the clown design and the way you animated the walk is really nice, i also like the honk sound effect, it shows your tried to create a hollistic theme. also the mechanic is clean and well executed. good job

Obviously you made the art yourself which i find really admirable and i find the main character well animated, and some of the enemy designs are really nice. i also liked the music. the combat feels a bit repetitive, but yeah only so much you can do in a game jam of course. I really like the athosphere and the lore and the story you created. Well done!

i liked the music and the main menu and the background but the characters artstyle didnt match with the rest. Also enemies can shoot fireballes trough their little platform but me i cant hit them trough it.  the jump was also a bit awkward in its execution, the speed and angle and stuff. some more small thingies, like theres no clear hit effect on enemies and the yjust despawn when you kill them.
Overall a well made game and a nice contender in the jam,  good job!

Doesn't look like the game completed, but thats ok, i liked the design of the characters even if the animations were a bit wonky. Maybe you can finish the game you were dreaming of at a later time.

good job on finishing a game. Its obvious and very admirable that you created all the art by yourself, try to think a bit about color palettes and color theory when making assets, the contrast is a bit harsh. the movement and jumps also feel a little bit stiff, also the little enemies started floating over empty space at the end over my head, and they wee blocking my jump, which seemed like a little bug. Solid stepping stone for your future work!

the game has an interesting vibe, so good world design. I didnt like the harsh sound that plays every jump. it was fun to jump troug hthe levelsand get to places s fast as possible. Also took a while to understand that I needed to press shift to dash in the begining and open the gate. Also didn't like that i randomly died and i had no idea why.

game is very buggy, managed to clip into the wall and fall into infinity after 5 seconds. I like the concept of random debuffs.
Jump is a bit too high.

Thanks for the great feedback! I struggled a while with making the enemies stand out from the environment, because they're all black.

Thank you!

Thanks for playing and the constructive feedback, much appreciated

This is a really clever game, I love the graphics, very clean and polished. Also using the turn based movement and combining the candlestick to create fire is clever, well done for all of that! its not so metroidvania, but who cares :D

really great game! you executed the theme in a really clever way, honestly this could be a concept of an actual released game. Funny you put testicles everywhere on the ceiling also to shoot. works smooth, no bugs, the movement is liiitle bit clunky, but ok. I love the design of the world and the enemies

this is a really nice game its well polished and looks nice. Clean and no bugs. also the jetpack movement is smooth. I think the gun control is a bit clunky and there could be a little more action in the game. Overall a nice contender!

Ok so obviously you spend good effort on the lightning and its really nice! i also like the athosphere and the weird big duck creature standing there. cool vibe. What i didnt like was that there was no sounds, it really takes away from the athosphere, also i picked up the gun but couldnt shoot, not sure how thats suposed to have worked, it wasn't clear where to go also, everything seemed to bea dead end.

first of all congratulations on finishing your first little game, that's already a big achievement. regarding the game itself i have to be honest here in that isn't really much of a game. The sound effects are hard to listen to and the gameplay takes 5 secs and its done. So not so many points for this game jam, but again good job on finishing something!

Im not sure what i had to do in this world, i was able to pick up 1 small cube, but everything else seemed so far away. I like the storytelling in the beginning, but the intro text was a bit too long,  messages just kept appearing, maybe try to make the tutorial more interactive in stead of sending message after message before the game started, it was also too much information to remember. the roll animation was also a bit clunky and slow. you got a cool concept here which could be something nice with a lot more polishing
