is the final rating of a game influenced by if people played a game 10 times, or 200 times?
I feel like once a game goes to the top page, all people just start playing that game and i saw the first one had like 300 ratings few days ago,.The link to games with a low rating amount is a great idea, but i notice that in a jam of this size, a lot of games end up somewhere in the middle with low visibility.
If the ratings is independant of the amount of ratings then i guess its fine, just wondering
this was a really well polished game, good job! the music was very relaxing, main charcter looks cool. Sometimes the movement was a bit too responsive, you can tweak a few things there. the grappling mechanic worked really well very smooth, fun level design, really good job!
I did ma,nage to break the game after i took the star i started floating and i just kept floating out of the game :D
There are some really good things here, the animation and movement is smooth. I really like that you drew your own art and i think the clown design and the way you animated the walk is really nice, i also like the honk sound effect, it shows your tried to create a hollistic theme. also the mechanic is clean and well executed. good job
Obviously you made the art yourself which i find really admirable and i find the main character well animated, and some of the enemy designs are really nice. i also liked the music. the combat feels a bit repetitive, but yeah only so much you can do in a game jam of course. I really like the athosphere and the lore and the story you created. Well done!
i liked the music and the main menu and the background but the characters artstyle didnt match with the rest. Also enemies can shoot fireballes trough their little platform but me i cant hit them trough it. the jump was also a bit awkward in its execution, the speed and angle and stuff. some more small thingies, like theres no clear hit effect on enemies and the yjust despawn when you kill them.
Overall a well made game and a nice contender in the jam, good job!
good job on finishing a game. Its obvious and very admirable that you created all the art by yourself, try to think a bit about color palettes and color theory when making assets, the contrast is a bit harsh. the movement and jumps also feel a little bit stiff, also the little enemies started floating over empty space at the end over my head, and they wee blocking my jump, which seemed like a little bug. Solid stepping stone for your future work!
the game has an interesting vibe, so good world design. I didnt like the harsh sound that plays every jump. it was fun to jump troug hthe levelsand get to places s fast as possible. Also took a while to understand that I needed to press shift to dash in the begining and open the gate. Also didn't like that i randomly died and i had no idea why.
really great game! you executed the theme in a really clever way, honestly this could be a concept of an actual released game. Funny you put testicles everywhere on the ceiling also to shoot. works smooth, no bugs, the movement is liiitle bit clunky, but ok. I love the design of the world and the enemies
Ok so obviously you spend good effort on the lightning and its really nice! i also like the athosphere and the weird big duck creature standing there. cool vibe. What i didnt like was that there was no sounds, it really takes away from the athosphere, also i picked up the gun but couldnt shoot, not sure how thats suposed to have worked, it wasn't clear where to go also, everything seemed to bea dead end.
first of all congratulations on finishing your first little game, that's already a big achievement. regarding the game itself i have to be honest here in that isn't really much of a game. The sound effects are hard to listen to and the gameplay takes 5 secs and its done. So not so many points for this game jam, but again good job on finishing something!
Im not sure what i had to do in this world, i was able to pick up 1 small cube, but everything else seemed so far away. I like the storytelling in the beginning, but the intro text was a bit too long, messages just kept appearing, maybe try to make the tutorial more interactive in stead of sending message after message before the game started, it was also too much information to remember. the roll animation was also a bit clunky and slow. you got a cool concept here which could be something nice with a lot more polishing
