Hello, I was wondering how exactly to interpret the requirement, "A single game should last no longer than 3 minutes". Is this rigid, in the sense that literally it should be impossible for any player's game session to go over three minutes in length, or should it be viewed as a looser constraint, more in line with traditional retro arcade games? For example, old school Pacman would probably kill 95% of players within the first minute, but there are experts that might literally survive for 10+ minutes.
Is it sufficient that 90% of players will die within the first two minutes? Or does a hard cutoff need to be enforced as well?
Good question - you're right, the proper way to do it would be to load in an actual dictionary (or at least, load one in during pre-production to generate a list). But, I thought given the 3 hour time constraint it would be faster to put in a predetermined word list with a corresponding set of valid "swapped" words. I'm actually not sure I saved time doing that though lol
Fun game! Love that you themed your itch.io page to match the game, very cool! I liked the screen-shake and SFX when you shoot, made it feel very visceral. It would be nice to have a similar punchy feel when you killed bad guys - as it is, it doesn't feel as cool to kill one. Love the walls of the levels. Wondering what makes it a "one room" dungeon, since you go to other rooms? Minor detail though. Also, it wasn't clear what benefit I get from rolling, as the movement seems unchanged - is it a temporary invincibility? Great job overall!
