Hey, I really like your stuff. I’m planning on making an entry for this jam and this is the exact vibe im looking for.

I usually just mess around in reaper to make my game audio, but it would be great to collaborate with someone who has more experience with horror audio/composition.

Let me know if you’d be interested in connecting and discussing further.

What a nice little game! The music is very cozy. Really satisfying to solve some of these rooms too

hahaha, enjoyed watching you play it on stream last night! Sorry about the bad RNG on the pike lmao. Stay tuned for an upcoming QoL release :)

absolutely! Just uploaded an executable version of the game. Check out the devlog too, got some exciting updates coming up :)

Thank you!! Enjoyed your game as well

yeah, this was an issue I discovered after making it playable in browser. I believe I can add a patch to my player script to prevent this from happening though. Originally I had the cancel button as ESC but Q was much safer for itch. Thank you for playing!!

Super underrated entry! Honestly the music is my favorite part and kinda startled me when it changed to night time lol. The grid based fishing is really unique and I could see it being fun to master with more difficult catches.

Although I think I might have soft locked myself? I've called Dave and the property manager, and I'm supposed to search the bottom of the lake, but nothing happens when I look at the underwater camera on the computer. When I go to fish it tells me to check out the house.

wow! Thank you for taking the time to make a playthrough video! Would it be okay if I use this as the video for the itch.io page?

Cool gameplay! Also the textures look very good and run smoothly in browser. This is the only one I've played that takes a 'FPS Style' spin on a fishing game so there's more of a focus on skill rather than luck/RNG.

Nice game! Mine was also called 'nightfishing', sorry about that coincidence😅

ah, good point. I agree the mid-game does drag a little bit and I didn't really identify much of what the objective was in-game. I can definitely improve on that in a future build. And yes I think the 'helpful duck' is my favorite little addition. Hope you saved him at the end of the game  😉

I'm glad you enjoyed the game and really appreciate the comment!

I really appreciate you saying that! This is my first game I've fully completed so it's a special project to me. And man! All that testing I did I didn't even think to look down on the camera and make sure the 'player' wasn't visible  😂. I'll patch that out.

Thank you for playing!

Hey! Thanks so much for playing! I agree that they do look super "derpy" during the day after they spawn just running around haha. I will be improving the enemy scripts in a future patch. Currently they do just go around a predetermined radius so I can probably make their behavior a lot more robust.

This one has the most addictive game loop for me so far. I actually really love the tried and true "fish-sell-upgrade" loop. Also the selling mechanic is cool, since I expected something like that in the fishing mechanic instead, so it is a unique twist on other fishing games. The controls feel really good and responsive as well. Will have to come back to this one and figure out what's in that locked shed.

This one is my favorite in the 'horror' category.  Clever spawning of the monster actually caught me off guard! Audio actually kind of had me on edge too (playing with headphones).

One Note: On my first playthrough I kinda got "stuck" after catching my first fish, because I didn't know I had to press '1' again to cast my rod. I probably could have paid better attention to the provided instructions, but I think it would be cool if they maybe could be toggled on/off and/or displayed in the corner of the screen.

Overall, great atmosphere, sound, and textures. You have a good ear/eye for horror.

Game looks beautiful, and these NPC's are hilarious. Great writing and world building. Fishing minigame is unique and pretty tricky. I need to come back and actually meet my quota lol

Just wanted to say hey to the community. This is my first time actually participating in a game jam and I think I've got a fun little game loop idea.

Anyone else using Godot as their engine? Im leaning towards a low poly psx style game

Awesome game loop. Can't wait to see more :)

Hello, after purchasing can I use/modify some of these sprites for an upcoming Jam? Thanks!

Cool concept. What happens when you hit the cacti though? Maybe the car should have an indicator on how much damage it's taking?
