I find that dots work well in games that are slower. For this game you'd want something that is very easy to be distinct very quickly, stripes are better for that, but you'd run into the issue that you have 12 colors.  An easier way to get around this is by letting the user choose the colors of the icecreams themselves, that way I can choose colors that work for me, and someone with a different colorblindness can do something different.

The strategy is definitely half baked, and I don't explain how payouts are structured. I will definitely make sure that gets explained during a tutorial.

This looks like it might be cool, but it's one of those games that my color blind ass cannot play.

I know that most people aren't colorblind, but I really couldn't tell the difference between the reds and the greens. Besides that, I think the game was executed well. I wish there were more hints if you didn't know what the word was to help for us less articulate.
