really really well done vn. i like that all the endings come together in a really nice thematic conclusion (i really liked reading the after notes!), but that they're also all enjoyable and stand on their own. i love the character of the host, and i really like the dynamic and dialogue established between him and 'us'. i love the sprites for the host. the expressions are nice - i don't want to spoil anything, but there's two endings in particular that use really slight changes in his face really, really well dramatically.

so so so charming. even with the gory details i was smiling the entire time playing. i love ace attorney, and this feels like it hits a good mark between being reminiscent of the series while also having its own style and feel. there's so many little details that stand out. the individual text noises. pippin having to jump on the bench to do a 'desk slam'. the judge using his flipper as a gavel. the characters are all really fun, and their animations are so good and really bring them all to life. i would play an entire trilogy of this.

really fucking good. really fucking brutal. just finished playing in one sitting today, and i'm probably gonna be thinking about it for a while. makes me want to stop sanitizing my own thoughts and art.

also, the ost and art are gorgeous.

The sad part of being early to games that have puzzles and multiple endings is not being able to rely on other people to figure out how to get other endings.

I liked it! There were some performance issues where certain things would have trouble loading (the first video froze the game on my laptop, and putting something in wrong for the image search also meant I had to close the game and reload). But since it's a jam game, I'm willing to let that go.

The Yume Nikki inspirations were clear. I did like the idea of a meta style Yume Nikki with a game within a game, especially with the original's focus on dreams.

SPOILERS here but I managed to get the one ending, but not the other. My initial guess is that getting the second ending has something to do with the Retribution post on the ingame forum and the attachment linked. I just couldn't figure out how to actually download it. Although, I could be completely off track, and getting the second ending has to do with something completely different. It's getting late though, and I'm not the best at these sorta things, so I'm willing to let someone else figure out the branches.

But I enjoyed it! I liked the use of image editing as a puzzle element. I haven't seen that a lot with meta style games.

I was looking up RPG Maker games when I found this one, and decided to download it on a whim. I'm glad I did, because I really enjoyed playing this! The story was well done, and managed to keep me guessing 'til the very end, and the characters were all a lot of fun! Honestly, it surprised me how much I started to feel for the mystery and characters as the game went on. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who's a fan of the murder mystery/whodunnit/puzzle type of game.
