Definitely one of my favourite games to come out of the jam, and extremely impressive that you managed to make it with only 29 hours!

I loved how quickly the player got to feeling overpowered, but was still hoarded by a bunch of enemies in later rounds. There is a very nice element of organised chaos - with choosing the perks being calculated but then everything going ballistic when the enemies start spawning XD

Two minor critiques: first, that the combo would run down while I was choosing perks. I don't know if this was intentional to make me hurry up or because an enemy spawned where I couldn't reach it, but it would be nicer to keep the combo going! Second, I personally thought the game was too easy! On all my runs the timer went well over 1 hour (and even 2 hours on some runs!) so I never really felt stressed. Would be nice to see damage / shop cost scale with how far into the run I am.

Overall, though, this game was super super fun, and the critiques didn't really detract from my experience at all. Great job :D

Thank you so much for the feedback!! :D

Thanks for playing!

I realised halfway through writing this comment what is causing that issue, and I'm kicking myself because I definitely should've remembered to fix that during testing T-T

Glad to hear that other than that, you still enjoyed :D

Always nice to stumble upon a more relaxing game (even if the sheep's behaviour did annoy me sometimes, but such is the life of a shepherd).

I really liked how the sheep behaved - it felt very natural, which is really impressive. The sheepdog was also a great addition, but I wish it had a bit better pathfinding, as it kept getting stuck in the starting box!

The visuals are really nice, and the music / sfx compliments the theme quite nicely. Great job :D

A very fun game! I loved the gambling aspect XD

Personally, I felt the game dragged a bit too long, and would've appreciated it being a bit shorter, but all in all the game was pretty good (and I still managed to get a pretty decent time of 7 minutes!)

Great job :D

Thanks for playing! :D

Thank you so much! :D

Thank you for the feedback! This was my first time doing proper dialogue for a game, so it's not the best XD Definitely something I'm going to try and improve on for future jams. :D

Thank you for playing! :D

This is really good!

Art is super clean and the music is super chilled and vibey.

The gameplay is super fun and I could honestly see myself losing hours playing this game if more stages were made! The controls are intuitive and the whole gimmick is super fun and easy to pick up.

My only critique is to add an undo button for the actions, but I personally didn't mind restarting the level because the game is still super fun to try and wrap your head around. I could start the same level like 20 times and my first 5 moves wouldn't be the same, which is awesome IMO

10/10, great job :D

This is really good! The UI is clean and the whole artstyle is super super nice. Music is really great too.

In terms of gameplay, it definitely felt overwhelming at first, but you quickly pick up what you are meant to do and it becomes super enjoyable. The RNG aspect can be frustrating at times, but gives the game lots of replayability and can often work in favour of the player, which is really neat.

Overall, a really fun game with clean visuals and great music. Spot on theme too. Great job :D

Congrats on beating the game!

I was never really happy with restarting the level, but it always was enough so I never really worked on it. I hadn't even thought about just letting the player access it from anywhere but that's a much better idea XD

Ladders were only meant to be for one level, but they became so useful that I started using them everywhere!

As for using the theme of the jam, I've done jams in the past where my interpretation of the theme was a bit loose, so I wanted to really try and make the theme a part of the gameplay for this one, and I'm glad to see people have picked up on that and enjoyed it.

Thank you for the feedback :D

Thank you for the feedback!

The resetting cards was definitely something I was on the fence about, but my playtesters never really commented on it so I never really got around to implementing it. Good to get feedback on that though, and I'll definitely implement that if this game goes any further, thanks :D

The gameplay loop is super fun and the visuals are super clean! I had a couple issues with dropping the tiles in the correct locations and some of the divisions resulted in funky answers, but overall, the game is really well made and I could definitely see myself losing a few hours to it (especially if it was a mobile game, I'd be playing it everywhere I go XD)

Great job :D

Thanks for playing! The game didn't get much playtesting admittedly so I was worried about how difficult some levels may be, but I'm glad to hear that despite the challenge it was still enjoyable :D

Wow, congrats on beating the game! So so cool to see someone enjoy this game so much :D

Thank you so much!! Really appreciate the feedback :D

Nice game! The platforming was quite fun and the sound effects were good. I think the combat could be improved (and did that boss go down in like 4 hits?) but as a platformer, it was really good.

Maybe this was just me but I got a little thrown off by the parallax in the background, meaning if there was no foreground objects on the screen, I couldn't really get a sense for where I was going. Potentially a few more objects could fix this and also flesh out the level so that the platforms don't look like they are just floating in empty space.

Overall, really good game, graphics were super clean too. Great job :D

Metroidvania-style games are always really tricky to execute within such a short amount of time, but you seem to have done a really good job! The movement is surprisingly nice to execute, and the difficulty of the obstacles seems to ramp up with how far I can get through the dungeon, which is quite nice.

I have 2 little nitpicks that I think would go a long way:

  1. Have a timer on screen to show the countdown from the poison. When I was dying felt a lot like guesswork and there were times where it really felt unfair. It would also help solidify the jam theme for the game (not that the theme isn't there, it would just make it more present)
  2. Making the dungeon smaller wouldn't hurt. I don't know if I was missing something, but the runback to the far east room was super long, and it felt like because of that I only had one attempt on that room that was already pretty challenging.

Those were small nitpicks though, and overall the game is really fun. Great job :D

The gameplay loop is really fun! Keeps you on your toes throughout the entire game and has some strategy involved too. The art and music complement each other and the game quite nicely. I was able to survive for 153.2 seconds, which I feel is pretty good!

Some random events occuring might spice the gameplay up a bit and add more replayability, but your core gameplay loop is pretty good so it really doesn't need it.

Great job :D

The artstyle is pretty neat, and the gameplay is pretty fun. Also that music kinda slaps???

I feel like this idea could be expanded upon in the future and be its own fully fledged game. Great job :D

The visual style of this game is amazing, and the music absolutely slaps too!

I think there was a skill issue on my part when it came to the gameplay, because I kept falling underneath the rocket and not being able to get back up T-T. Other than that it seemed really cool, and from what the other comments are saying, its really fun too - so great job! :D

A neat little idea! I can see the vision with the game loop but having more options than sticking my fingers in an electric outlet and choosing what pet I want would probably help lol

I can definitely see this being expanded upon and working, great job :D

Nice game, the gameplay is fun once you get the hang of landing properly and the limited jumps allows for some fun puzzling! Great job :D

Very cozy, great job :D

Very fun, the gameplay and visuals remind me a lot of echo chess lol.

Great job :D

Nice game! I had a couple issues with the collisions which kinda sucked when the point of the game is maneuvering as quick as possible, but overall I had a pretty good experience. Great job :D

Congrats on entering your first game jam! This game is really impressive for a first entry.

The whole invisible level gimmick is very effective, as it is both easy to learn but also can be used to make some very difficult levels. I don't know if it was intentional, but having everything be grid-based made it much more fun to play as I could more accurately plan my route.

While most of the levels were designed quite well, I'd recommend having super easy levels before you introduce each mechanic (kind of like what you did with level 5). This allows the player to get used to new mechanics on easier levels, before you use the mechanics in more difficult ways.

Overall, this is a really great game, and you should be very proud! It kind of reminds me of old flash games, which is cool. Great job :D

Super cute game! I never thought I'd have so much fun stopping a cat from destroying my bread tower XD

I could kind of see this being turned into a Warioware-style game where you have to do even more tasks while Benben tries to stop you!

Benben is adorable - great job on the game :D

Very nice game! The artstyle and story are very cute and I really liked the phone mechanic :D

Gameplay was really fun, my only gripe would be that there be some sort of indicator for the randomly appearing spirits? Otherwise it goes from a fun puzzle where I can plan out my steps to just being annoying (also didn't help that failing crashed the game, lol)

But that is just a small issue, overall the game was pretty fun, the mechanics were good, and the story was really enjoyable - great job! :D

Thank you for the feedback! The music was admittedly a little rushed lol, but I'm glad to hear that it still works :D

This is incredible! The puzzles are extremely well thought out and the whole puzzle gimmick is super cool! The art, theming and music are also amazing and compliment the game very well!

10/10, could definitely see this being expanded upon for a full game, great job :D

Definitely had me questioning my time-keeping skills for a second there, but once I got the hang of it, I got a near perfect attempt (0.08s off)!

Simple, but still fun. Absolutely on theme too XD

Great job :D

This game is super fun! The artstyle and audio are great.

Typically this genre of game is not my cup of tea, but the gameplay was surprisingly fun! It's cool to see you almost subvert the genre where I'd normally want a small break between waves, but I found myself starting waves as soon as possible to keep my killstreak alive.

I had one or two issues with enemies spawning too close and those small enemies grouping together too much and becoming impossible to kill, but I think that was more of a skill issue than an issue with the game XD

Great job :D

The visuals of this game are absolutely stellar!! Insanely impressive that your team managed to get this game made in such a short amount of time.

The gameplay was definitely where I struggled the most, as it took a little while to get used to the controls, but once I did I was able to play pretty smoothly (and I only got sued for medical malpractice a couple times XD).

Could definitely see this being expanded into a fully fledged game, maybe with more items like some other comments have said.

Incredible game, great job :D

I really enjoyed playing this game! Loved having to manage all the different aspects of ordering new tapes and reconnecting and whatnot. Definitely hit the nail on the head for the theme XD

Voice acting was 10/10 too, great job!

Thanks for the feedback! I was very happy to get the lighting working so well so I'm glad other people have picked up on that :D

Thank you for playing! :D

Thank you so much! Game visuals is an area I always felt I was lacking, so I was happy that this game felt like I had knocked it out of the park (and seems other people think that too!). I'm super proud of the cards, so I'm glad someone picked up on that XD

Thanks for playing and congrats on making it all the way to the final stage :D

Thanks for playing :D

I really wanted to take the "show, don't tell" approach but my playtesters were... inexperienced with video games to say the least XD It was definitely something that I struggled to get right so thanks for the feedback !!
